A School to Emulate

Memorial Elementary Bobcat Bulletin 2-22 through 2-26-16

Balance...How's it going?

Balance...how's it going? I hope you are all taking time to refresh and renew. If you don't you may find yourself tired, stressed, and unfulfilled. The students need you to be energetic, excited, and satisfied. Be sure to prioritize, work hard, and leave at a reasonable hour. Don't apologize for taking care of yourself.

This is a reminder to alway have walkie-talkies turned up and tuned to channel 9 (walkers with parents) and channel 7 (everyone else) during dismissal. Parents are listening to the radio communication when we are calling for their children. Please respond promptly and be mindful of your word choice. Refrain from using statements like..."I don't know. He/she is not here. I thought I saw him/her leave." That leaves our parents anxious and uncomfortable. Use comments like, "I'm checking on that. Just one moment. He/she is on the way." That gives the parent comfort that the child is safe and accounted for.

Please remind students and parents that we will have Saturday school on February 27th.

I am seeing more student work displays around the building. It looks great. Keep em coming. You are free to bombard the hallways and your classrooms with all of the wonderful student work samples being created. It gives everyone who walks into the building a sneak peek into the wonderful work you do everyday. I most enjoy seeing the photos of students happy, working, and producing quality work.

Lastly, remember that "unknown" district personnel will enter the building using doors other than the main entrance. They will see how much of the building they can access before being addressed by staff and escorted to the main office. We got this!

Thanks everyone and let's have a great week!

That's HILARIOUS! Send your funnies my way...

During Saturday school a student said, "I love Saturday school. The other kids aren't here and they are a pain in the neck. I feel so bad for the teachers."

Kudos
