Introduction to the Bible
So...How is the Bible set up?
The Bible contains two main parts, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament was created before Jesus was born. On the other hand, the New Testament mostly talks about Jesus' birth, life, death, and resurrection.
The Pentateuch, which is found in the Old Testament, reveals to us God's chosen people, the Israelites. Pentateuch means "five books".
Who are God's chosen people?
Back in history God's chosen people were the Israelites, as mention in the section before. But the Bible is not a literal book, it contains stories with a message, but it does not mean all of the information is 100% accurate and true. Nowadays we understand that God's chosen people are all of us, every single soul in this world. We are all called to holiness with God and we all have a vocation in life.
