Virtual Science Assembly

Hi Labradors and Labrador Families,

I am so excited to be able to bring another virtual assembly to Lawrence! During this assembly students will have the opportunity to learn about a wide range of fascinating sea creatures and their habitats. They will explore coral reefs, mangrove swamps, and the open ocean during this fast-paced, fun, and interactive virtual program live from a sailboat in the Caribbean!

The assembly is next Tuesday, May 11th from 1:15-2:00 pm. Your classroom teachers are aware of this assembly and have allotted time in your synchronous or asynchronous schedules on Tuesday, May 11th. Click here for a link to the assembly. The link will not work until a few minutes before the assembly. You will not be able to see or hear other students while in the assembly, but you are encouraged to participate and ask questions via the chat feature! Please let me know if you have any questions and don't forget to mark your calendars for next Tuesday, May 11th from 1:15-2:00 pm!

Looking forward to Tuesday!

MRA Parent Survey

As you know, Lawrence Elementary is implementing the Leader in Me, which teaches 21st-century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. Surveys will be conducted to learn more about key areas of strength and areas of needed growth in our school. The data from these surveys will also help us track the impacts of the Leader in Me process and implement key practices more fully. In order for us to have a holistic picture of what is going on in our school, we are asking all teachers, parents/guardians, and students in Grade 4 and up to participate.

Parent participation is completely voluntary, but we do hope to get feedback from one member of every household. The parent/guardian survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your child and about his or her experience in our school. If you have more than one child attending the school, you will be asked to think about the oldest child’s experiences as you answer questions related to his or her growth.

Thank you in advance for completing the parent survey. Please use this link to complete the survey.

Safe Routes to School Survey

Help improve our Safe Routes to Schools Program! If you have a student enrolled at Lawrence Elementary, please take this 5-minute survey about your family’s travel choices and perceptions of safety. This year, we’re also very interested in how families used active transportation during the COVID-19 pandemic, their transportation plans after in-person learning resumes, and any concerns about active transportation to and from school post-reopening. All parents who submit a survey by May 14 will be entered to win one of ten $50 REI gift cards. Thank you!
