Kid's Heart Challenge
On February 9 we will be kicking off KIDS HEART CHALLENGE (formally known as jump rope for heart.) Each class will be watching a short video and will be bringing home an informational brochure.
This is a great time for our students to learn how a donation can help other kids who have heart defects and need special attention to repair them. After signing up they also are able to access so much information on how to have and maintain a healthy heart!
There are two ways to register; the first is to go to heart.org/KHC and follow the prompts, filling out all the needed information and the second way is to scan the QR code on the brochure your student will be bringing home and once again following the prompts.
The BEST way to donate is on-line once you register. However, I will accept checks and cash this year BUT IT MUST BE PUT IN THE DONATION ENVELOPE. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out to me at kim_hansen@chuh.org.
SNAP Benefits Change
Beginning in March, all households currently receiving SNAP, also known as food stamps, will no longer receive the month additional benefits known as Emergency Allotments. Some households will experience a $200 reduction of monthly benefits they have received throughout the pandemic. The Greater Cleveland Food Bank wants families to know that help is available. Call the Food Bank's Help Center at 216-738-2067 to find food resources near you.
