Drop Off Procedures
For maximum safety, please follow our drop-off system. During the designated times, staff is on duty to monitor students into the building.
Morning drop off times, Tuesday-Friday 7:25-7:50.
Please continue to use the inner one lane for morning drop off for the continued safety of students.
Students are to be dropped off on the sidewalk at the Elementary’s front entrance.
Please do not use cell phones during drop off.
At 7:50 the doors to the front entrance will be shut. Staff are no longer monitoring drop off. The building sign will be placed outside that school is in session.
After 7:50 students being dropped off are counted as late. Parents are responsible for walking their child in to the elementary office and signing their student in.
Pick Up Procedures
Students being picked up will follow a new procedure to create a safer, more orderly environment for dismissal. Due to Kentling Ave and the front of the elementary school being a designated fire lane and needing to remain clear in case of emergency, we will utilize Saddle Club Road to the north of Highlandville Elementary for dismissal of car riders.
- Cars or trucks should enter the northern most lane of Saddle Club Road. Follow Saddle Club Road around and pick up and exit facing east.
- Do not use cell phones while picking up your student. This is for the safety of students and staff.
- Staff will load the children. Do not encourage students to approach the vehicle.
- Please refer to the dismissal map. We appreciate your cooperation during the implementation of this new procedure as we work to improve service to our students and families.
Mrs. Chellsie Cutbirth- Administrative Assistant for 2020-2021

**If a child needs to be picked up early from school, you will need to call before 2:30. Call the front office to pick up your student and remain in your car.**
Please give a warm welcome to Highlandville’s new building secretary, Chellsie Cutbirth.
She’s our very own 2006 Spokane alumni. She is coming to us from the Ozark School District. Chellsie’s warm and inviting personality will make a perfect fit for the Highlandville Elementary Team.

New Faces to HES
Dear HES Families,
As the new school year 2020-2021 begins, we would like to communicate with you our discipline policy at HES. As a building, it is important to be transparent with stakeholders. We believe in positive reinforcement at HES and value your support.
We have an updated behavior flow chart in our building. This flowchart ensures students and staff both understand the process regarding discipline and office referrals. When a student has a minor/major office referral this requires an administrator consequence, parent contact, and/or signature on referral sheet. Additionally, the use of the flow chart also helps you as a parent understand the processes we have in place.
Please also understand that any violation of the Safe Schools Act or our anti-bullying policy will be sent to the office and dealt with in a direct manner.
To encourage students, we will recognize appropriate behavior with individual, group, and class recognitions. On a weekly basis, every Tuesday, students will be recognized in our morning assembly for their exemplary behavior (now virtual). We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a positive learning environment.
