Semester One
Engaging in Working Mathematically
Students have been busy exploring their mathematical skills by engaging in Number Talks, whole class and independent activities. Number Talks involve students developing their number sense by justifying and reasoning as a whole class, talking to their peers and sharing their findings. Whole class and independent activities engage students by manipulating concrete materials and learning about different concepts such as time, data, position and much more. They have had so much fun learning new skills and acquiring new mathematical language.

Literacy
During our Literacy time, students are deeply engaged in a variety of activities based on L3 (Language, Learning and Literacy). These activities include Guided Reading, Independent activities, Writing, Phonics and Guided Writing. Students have shown so much growth this semester from beginning to write their name to a simple or complex sentence. I am so proud of them! Well done KD!
Calmsley Hill Farm
This term we went on an adventure to Calmsley Hill Farm. We had so much fun seeing all the animals we had previously learnt about in class! We then took this experience back to class and linked it to our Literacy and Science program.
Have a safe and happy holiday with your loved ones. See you next term!
Reminders:
-We return to school on the 22nd July 2019.
-Continue using Reading Eggs and Mathletics!
Thank you,
Mrs Dodman.
