Weekly Bulletin - April 5th, 2019
One week left to sell planters for Mothers Day!
Our hope is that every student at OLMP has sold at least one planter and submitted the forms to their homeroom teachers. Help us to raise money for those in need while we contemplate giving during the Lenten season all while supporting mom's on Mother's Day.
For more details, photos and the order forms click the pdf files below. As students sell plants their class thermometers will go up and the winning class will get time off school work to celebrate and have a pizza party.
Monday is Green Shirt / Jersey Day at OLMP
To honor the anniversary of the Humbolt Bronco's accident we will be having a Green Shirt / Jersey Day on Monday, April 8th. Students and Staff will be encouraged to wear green and/or a jersey to honor those who lost their lives in this tragic accident.
Why Green?
Sunday, April 7th has been named Green Shirt Day, to honour Logan Boulet, and to raise awareness for organ donor registration and inspire others to register.
Logan Boulet - originally from Lethbridge, Alberta - was a member of the Humboldt Broncos hockey team. He was fatally injured when his team’s bus collided with a semi-trailer last April. On his 21st birthday, just five weeks before the crash, Logan signed his donor card. He was inspired by his late coach and mentor who donated his organs, saving six lives. Logan’s parents chose to fulfill Logan’s wish to have his organs donated; six of Logan’s organs were donated. It’s estimated that in the past year, over 200,000 Canadians have been inspired by Logan to become organ donors; and the Adams Park Ice Centre in Lethbridge is being renamed the Logan Boulet Arena. Camrose Bike Fest - Sell Bikes / Buy Bikes / Bike Safety
On April 27th KidSport will be hosting their 3rd Annual KidSport Camrose Bike Fest which includes a bike consignment sale. KidSport is currently looking for donations or consignments of bikes in good working condition for the sale. Bikes can be dropped off at Lamb Ford or the morning of the event.
The proceeds of the sale of bikes that are donated are 100% allocated towards funding registration costs for youth participating in sport (in Camrose and Camrose County). For bikes consigned there is a $2.00 consignment cost per bike with 15% being donated to KidSport Camrose.
For many in the community the sale is an opportunity to purchase a bike at a significant cost savings, allowing kid and adults to be active and mobile.
