They can be bilingual and biliterate in elementary school.
Fremont Unified School District offers K-6 Spanish Dual Immersion (SDI).
The program teaches English and Spanish to both native English speakers and native Spanish speakers, with the goal that all students will become fluent in both languages. The SDI Program has built a strong community of students, parents, and educators dedicated to the success of this acclaimed program.
It is not too late to register for the 2014-2015 School Year!
Join the program in Kindergarten or First Grade! Your child can even test into the program beyond first grade. This year, FUSD is offering SDI Transitional Kindergarten!
SDI is available at three schools: Blacow, Grimmer, and Vallejo Mill. FUSD allows transfers from any school in Alameda County.
