Important District News for the week of September 13

EARLY DISMISSAL ALL WEEK - 12:50 DISMISSAL MONDAY-FRIDAY

Parent Interviews

From September 13th-September 20th, both schools will be conducting parent interviews to gather information focused on helping your child be successful in school. The interviews will provide valuable information to help staff create the best possible educational experience for your child. Please note that dismissal will be at 12:50 ALL WEEK.

We appreciate your participation in these interviews, and look forward to meeting with you this week!

Home-School Connection

Here are the questions that will be discussed at this week's Parent/Teacher conferences:

  1. What are some strengths and preferences of your child and what makes them special?

  2. At the end of the school year, what do you hope your child says about his/her experience in school this year?

  3. What might be some concerns/fears that you have regarding your child?

  4. What does a day look like for your child in the morning? afternoon/evening? Are there any specific routines?

  5. How and when would you like me to be in touch with you this year? What might be some things you’ll hope I communicate with you?

  6. Have there been any recent changes for your child that you would like to share with me?

  7. What might be something I missed, but you want me to know about your child?

  8. Are there any additional supports that your child or family needs at this time?

We hope that a preview of the questions will help to make this the most enriching experience possible.

Box Tops for Education Program Is Running!

The Box Tops for Education Program, which earns money for new books in the library, is still running! If you still have paper Box Tops that haven't expired, please have your students turn them in to their teacher by Friday, October 29.

The program has switched to electronic so scanning your receipts is the way to go now to earn our school credits. The Box Tops app can be downloaded on your cell phone from the Apple App Store for iPhones or from Google Play Store for Android phones. It is easy to scan a receipt and takes only a minute or so.

If you don't have time to scan receipts, please send them in with your students to give to the teacher and they will put them in my mailbox for me to scan.

Thank you for your support of the Box Tops Program and please let me know if you have any questions! - Allison Bronkall, South Bay Librarian
