College 101 Planning Workshop

Mizzou Admissions is breaking down what you need to know about college. The College 101 panel will answer your questions and set you up for success on your college journey, whether you choose Mizzou or decide to attend another school.
This is a great program for any high school sophomores or juniors that you know! They'll cover general topics like the differences between two-year and four-year schools and private vs. public colleges. And you'll find out what to expect from the application process, taking the ACT/SAT, getting financial aid, living on campus, and more.

What is the best way to prepare for the ACT/SAT? Do I take both exams? When should the ACT/SAT be taken? How many times should it be taken? Should I send my test scores to colleges? How do test scores impact college admissions and scholarships? Is Test Optional admission different from Test Blind admission? If you are a freshman, sophomore or junior, these may be questions you are asking. COLLEGE | SCHOLARSHIP
Application Deadline: Thursday, March 17, 2022
The Mathematics Department recognizes outstanding senior math students by awarding the Ellen Temkin Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a current West High senior. To apply, submit your application and essay by Thursday March 17, 2022 to Jason Townsend. No late applications will be accepted. Questions, see Mooney or Judd in the Math Department.

The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis
Application Deadline: April 15, 2022
Applications are now being accepted for the sixth class of BJC Scholars! This $12,000 renewable scholarship will be awarded to up to 13 graduating high school seniors in the class of 2022 from communities served by BJC HealthCare. Additionally, they have created an informational video for the BJC Scholars Fund, which may be viewed on their YouTube channel here.

Now offering virtual, live practice AP tests proctored by a professional tutor. Practice is essential for students to understand exactly what they will face on test day and if they need additional support now as they work towards the tests in May. Additionally, they are offering 3 AP information webinars for students throughout the second semester.

There will be approximately 50 companies in attendance spanning Construction, Healthcare, IT, and more to share exciting career opportunities with paid short-term training programs (i.e., apprenticeships). This event is open to all but perfect for graduating seniors considering college alternatives.

Dierbergs - Open Interviews at Manchester location

Dierbergs is hosting an open interview event to apply for part time positions.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Camp Circle Star is a unique day camp for children with disabilities. We pair up our campers 1:1 with volunteers and they will enjoy the Saturday Fun Day or week during Summer Camp together, engaging in activities as the campers choose. Activities include hiking, fishing, playing on our playground and trampoline, swimming in the pool, and activities in our 4000 sq ft camp house, which includes an Art Room, Sensory Room, Music Room, Nature Room, pretend Pet Clinic, Wildlife Observation Room, and more. Our staff is present and available to run activities and help our volunteers connect with the campers and assist with their personal care needs. This is a fun learning experience for all students and volunteers.
