Wrightstown Ravens' News
February 4, 2022
Please know that last night the School Board voted to revise the following sections of the Health and Safety Plan:
- The District will not be publishing a dashboard on the CRSD website.
- Students and staff who have an ongoing (in-home) exposure do not need to wear face coverings in school.
- Students are not required to eat lunch or snacks separately unless they request to. Therefore, students with in-home exposure or who test positive do not need to eat lunch or snack away from their peers for any length of time. Eating separately is optional for all students.
While there is no longer a CRSD COVID dashboard, I will still send the COVID classroom letter for any student who tests positive and was contagious in school. One-way temporary viewing remains an option for those home sick with the COVID.
The second marking period report cards will be available for viewing on the Home Access Center (HAC) at 4:00 pm on Thursday, February 10th. Families can log in to the Home Access Center at this LINK.
It's hard to believe that Friday, February 11th is the 100th day of school!
Have a great weekend!
Beth

Students in 4th grade will be using recyclable materials to construct their prototypes. This is where we need YOU! We are in need of recyclables! We will take just about anything recyclable that students can use to build. We cannot accept anything that is sharp or of glass.
Bins will be located near the rear/side (Gym) entrance for this collection beginning Monday, January 31. We have a limited window of opportunity so anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated!

LOST & FOUND
Counselor's Corner
Dear WES Community,
Did you know school counselors celebrate during National School Counseling Week, Feb. 7–11, 2022?
National School Counseling Week 2022, “School Counseling: Better Together,” sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), will be celebrated from Feb. 7–11, 2022, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
How will this be celebrated at Wrightstown Elementary School?
At WES, I will be sharing some great information about school counseling with our students during morning announcements, as well as handing out a few little surprises for students throughout the week.
Also, each day, students are eligible to participate in my #NSCW FLIPGRID CONTEST. Each day I will post a video prompt for students to respond to on Flipgrid and a winner of the contest will be chosen on Monday 2/14/22.
*Participation is voluntary, and each response (1 per student per day), will earn the student one chance to win a pizza party lunch in my office with 3 friends. A random student will be chosen as the winner of this contest. Students can earn up to five chances to win if they participate each day.
I look forward to celebrating this week with the WES community. Please encourage your students to participate on Flipgrid for a chance to win! Here is the link again: https://flipgrid.com/462ed46f

Human Growth & Development Classes (Grades 4, 5 & 6)
As part of the yearly health curriculum fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students receive instruction on human growth and development during the second semester of the 2021-2022 school year. Classes will be taught by the Physical Education teacher and the school nurse. We understand that these can be difficult conversations to have with your students, but they are of great importance to our children’s health. Additional resources for parents are provided in the letter (at the following LINK), as well as the grade level topics if you are looking to further these conversations at home.
Recess Outdoors!
It's cold outside! Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for outside weather. Warm jackets, hats, sturdy shoes, pants, and gloves are essential for the children to safely enjoy their recess. Unless the weather is extreme (rain or excessive cold – 22 degrees or below), children will have recess outside. Please send your child in with appropriate clothing daily so they are prepared.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM CHARTWELLS REGARDING STUDENT LUNCHES AT SCHOOL
Please take a moment to read the following letter from Chartwells at this LINK. It includes information about what IS and IS NOT included in the free lunch program. Specifically, the letter states:
All Council Rock students in grades 1-8 are eligible to receive a free lunch if they so desire. A student receiving a free meal must choose at least 3 items for the lunch to be considered complete as per the Department of Child Nutrition regulations, one of which must be at least a half-cup serving of a fruit or vegetable. Anything less than this will be considered an a la carte purchase and must be paid for by the student.
