Red Hill Lutheran 2020-2021
February Issue
2nd year Red Hill Lutheran has won Best Faith-Based Elementary & Junior High School. This year we are Editor's Choice!
Principal's Corner
Dear RHLS Community,
February blessings! Students, parents, and teachers/staff have been in my prayers and on my heart now more than ever since we started this new year. We all recognize that it has already been an incredibly stressful year with so many things on the horizon that we have yet to experience and name. We want to get from “here” to “there” – wherever “there” is. I love it when I realize I’m standing in a “here” place that used to be a “there” place. I am always so grateful to see what God has done to get us “here.”
“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him.” Psalm 37:23 promises us that the steps of faith-filled people are ordered and established by the Lord. What a promise! Every step we take today to move us from “here” to “there” is ordered by the Lord. Rest in this assurance, resist the temptation to obsess about where we will end up, and trust God by listening to the Lord where you are now. Before you know it, you will be celebrating a new “here”! Lord, thank you for ordering our footsteps according to Your will.
Here are a couple of articles which I read recently and found insightful.

Thank you for your partnership in the eternally important process of Christian Education and service to the Lord and to the students entrusted to our care! God be with you!

Parent Service Hours
RHLS Parent Service Hours (previously called Pride hours) requirement has been adjusted for the 2020-21 school year due to the unique COVID situation and parents not being allowed on the RHLS campus.
This year we are only asking for a minimum of three Parent Service Hours per Kindergarten-8th family (minimum of 1 hour per Preschool family). Parent Service Hours will need to be done remotely -- class prep-work, donations etc. -- at this point. However, there will be no penalty if hours are not completed due to the circumstances.
***We are so thankful to our PTF Board, Room Parents, Gardening Ladies, and others who have donated so much of their time this year.

Thank you!

February Teaching Series
February 7: Jesus Heals Simons Mother-in-Law
February 14: Jesus' Transfiguration
February 21: Jesus Overcomes Temptation in the Wilderness
February 28: Jesus Predicting his Death
Overview:
Great sports moments tend to involve people who accept big challenges, require courage and possess an ability to keep going. Jesus accepted many challenges, and the stories we know about him can help kids walk through whatever they are facing. Let’s cheer on every kid to be able to say: Jesus takes care of me, Jesus shows me the truth, Jesus helps me when I’m tempted, and Jesus understands my challenges.
