Happy Holidays!

I hope that all of you have a wonderful break with your families! I just wanted to share a few more resources this month that I hope will help to make your classrooms richer. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Videos for Tech PD

Now you can earn contact hours by watching videos for technology professional development! Go to the Seneca East Educational Technology website to watch videos that are developed by Jon Darkow. Each video will be under 10 minutes in length and you can watch them at your leisure.

If you would like contact hours, you can earn 1-2 contact hours per video:

1 Contact hour: Complete the questions below to receive 1 contact hour credit for this Professional Development

2 Contact hours: Complete the questions below and email Jon Darkow a lesson plan implementing the material from the video for two contact hours.

The first video posted is, "Comparing Strategies" using Google Drawing for creating a Venn Diagram. If you have any questions, or an idea for a video contact Jon Darkow or Laurie Hunker.

INFOhio's Blizzard Bags

In case the weather is as frosty and freezy as last winter, INFOhio created Blizzard Bags!

Grades K-5 bags feature snow; Grades 6-8 bags feature financial literacy ; Grades 9-12 feature social media. Each bag takes students through an online module and has them work on a variety of research skills within these topics. So even if the snows are light this year, perhaps these blizzard bags are something that you can use with your classes.

4th grade teachers can get excited about the addition of Storia to INFOhio! With the addition of Storia, 4th grade teachers and students have access to 160 fiction and nonfiction ebooks. I have registered Seneca East and have an access code from INFOhio, so see me to help get your classes set up. You can watch an overview video of Storia to get a feel for how it works. Since this is a pilot project with the 4th grade this year, hopefully, this great resource will extend to more grade levels next year.
