The Randle Recorder
Where Excellence is the Standard
Welcome
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Dr. Thomas E. Randle High School. I am honored to have the opportunity to be part of a school district with such a rich tradition of excellence! I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty-four years. I have worked with a variety of students and look forward to meeting everyone very soon. My most recent administrative experience was in Fort Bend ISD where I served as a Principal at LV Hightower High School. I am excited and eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to Randle High School and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.
I want to ensure all parents that I will work hard to build a legacy of success that will be built on a foundation of strong relationships with parents, students and community partners. We will focus on character and leadership skills, common core values, and the use of data to drive instruction. 2021/2022 will be an amazing school year as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and provide real-world connections.
As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors feels welcome, wanted, and excited to be part of the #RandleExperience! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I value your feedback. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any questions or concerns that you might have.
Sincerely,
John Montelongo
Principal

Let's give a Randle Welcome to Ms. Roxanne Villafranco

Her oldest is a Sophomore at Terry High School and is a member of the wrestling team as well as a member of the varsity softball team. Her younger daughter attends George Jr. High where she is a member of volleyball team. Her youngest daughter will attend Wright Jr. High as an 8th grader in the fall of 2020.
Ms. Villafranco is excited about joining the Randle Staff as the Executive Assistant to the campus principal. When asked about the opportunity, Ms. Villafranco responded, “I am excited about the opening of the 6th High School in LCISD. Never did I imagine our small town would have 6 High Schools and I have the honor and privilege to open it up. We will exude pride and excellence in our building, in our staff and in our students!”
Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long have you been a principal? Is this your first HS opening?
I have 21 years of administrative experience. I have been a principal for 13 years. This is my first high school opening as the head principal, but I have experience in opening a new school as an assistant principal.
2. My daughter was really looking forward to going to George Ranch HS especially for their Track & Field program. Will you have seasoned coaches at this school and how do you plan to build a strong team in sports in this school?
As the building principal it is my responsibility to hire the best teachers, coaches, and staff for Randle High School. Yes, we want experienced coaches and staff members, but we also want a staff that places an emphasis on teaching character and the importance of responsibility to our students.
I believe the key to building strong team sports is finding quality athletic coordinators and working collaboratively in recruiting quality individuals who are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about working with our students. Finally, the coaches must have the same high standards in the classroom as they do on the field and courts. To be great, we must strive for excellence in everything that we do.
3. What college bound programs will you have at the HS? Can you speak of academic programs that assist students in obtaining internships in business, medicine and other student interest?
Randle High School will provide multiple opportunities for students to participate in several college bound programs. Below are the opportunities that will be offered at RHS. · RHS will offer Pre-AP and AP courses in the areas of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, World Languages and Fine Arts
· RHS may offer dual credit opportunities provided staff are qualified and approved by Lone Star College in the areas of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and World Languages.
· RHS will offer University of Texas OnRamps. OnRamps provides distance education courses via a dual enrollment model. OnRamps is designed by UT Austin faculty, and offers 13 courses in the areas of STEM, Arts, and Humanities—with the college credit portion transferable to any Texas public higher education institution.
In regard to internship opportunities, all Career and Technology Pathways offered by Lamar CISD provide practicum opportunities during the 12th grade year. Students must complete all pre-requisite courses prior to the practicum. For more information, you can view Career & Technical Education Programs of Study Guide here.
