Bagging Plastic

Miranda Alsbrooks, March 31, 2014

Summary

Plastic bags at the grocery store are highly common and most everyone uses them. Americans use about 100 billion of them each year according to the U.S international trade commission. not many of these plastic bags get recycled so they're thrown into landfills where they take years to decompose and others get blown into rivers and oceans because they aren't thrown away properly. Many large cities are banning plastic bags to cut down on pollution but some people are trying to ban the bans! Representatives are trying to get rid of the plastic bag ban because a lot of people reuse the bags as trash bags, and bags to carry their lunch plus other many ways to reuse them. some states are trying to issue a tax on plastic bags to encourage people to use reusable bags.
