There is nothing like getting together with your "tribe" when you can laugh, swap stories, and simply enjoy being together. The time we spend in their company gives our souls the boost of joy they need.
We oftentimes don't realize until that day with friends how parched our spirits become. So much despair in the world affects our attitudes. Sure, we have plenty of reasons to be joyful but we forget to actively seek joy in our everyday lives. When we forget to seek joy, weariness will gradually take over.
Time spent with God will replenish the joy we’ve lost. As we invite Him to lead us each day, we will discover new pleasures. Just like our much-needed date with our "tribe", we need to prioritize time with the Lord. So, when weariness or despair overwhelms us, the answer is to draw close to Him so he can restore our joy.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for reminding me that true joy can be found by having you in my life. Forgive me for letting the struggles of this world steal my joy. I come into Your presence today, ready to experience more joy.
With your goodness and love right beside me, I can always find reasons to be joyful. Lord, as I see others who are hurting, help me reach out and share the renewed joy I’ve found in you.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

Peanut Butter Sandwich How To
6th graders started their introduction to How-To Essays/Articles this week. They discussed what they already know about that type of writing and where they see it in their daily lives. As an introductory activity students had to write a How-To Essay on how to make a peanut butter sandwich. Today, each student was tested on their ability to be precise and specific in their writing by then reading it aloud and as Mrs. Sheehy tried to create their peanut butter sandwich based on their directions. It was fun, messy, and delicious!
