Happy Winter CES STAR ARTISTS and Parents!
We hope everyone is having a Happy New Year! We would like to remind you that March is Youth Art Month! Frederick County Public Schools conducts our county-wide Art Show
at the Delaplaine Arts Center in downtown Frederick. Students artwork from CES will be selected to be in the art show. Information will be coming home shortly about this.
Here are some of the general art vocabulary and concepts we will be studying in Art for the 3rd semester:
K: line, shape, color, pattern, texture, Winter landscapes and self- portraits.
1st: landscapes, portraits, color families and 3D form.
2nd: shapes, balance, asymmetrical, symmetrical, art tools, cityscape and seascape.
3rd: medium/media, still-life, foreground, middleground, background, focal point, monochromatic and complimentary colors.
4th: abstract, realistic, proportion and style.
5th: we will continue reviewing the art elements and design principles of art while working on improving quality of our artist statements.
With the onset of colder weather and the illnesses that come along with it, we are always in need of donations of tissues and Clorox wipes. If you are able to help by donating either of these items, it will go a long way to help keep germs at bay this winter season. Thank you for your help!
Thank you so much for supporting the Art Department and encouraging your students be creative!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Olds,
