Charger Notes
Reminders and updates from Chippewa Middle School
November 15, 2019
Dear Chippewa Families:
In light of numerous school cancellations during the winter of 2018-19, we are providing a variety of optional learning activities that students can complete if we once again find ourselves missing multiple days due to inclement weather. Even though we haven’t yet entered the winter season, we are sharing this “Chippewa Snow Day BINGO Card” with you to suggest ways to keep your child(ren) engaged in learning activities when school is canceled. This information will also be on the Chippewa website, and sent to parents and students (via their Mounds View gmail) in the early morning on days in which school is canceled due to snow or cold.
The activity grid format provides choices that can be completed independently or with siblings or friends. The goal for each snow day is for students to achieve BINGO (technically “CHARGER”). The activities can be completed with limited reliance on technology and are designed to be completed by students in 6th through 8th grade.
Please keep in mind that the completion of any of these activities is optional. Students are not required to submit evidence of completed work to their teacher. However, they will receive a small prize from the iCREATE loot cart if they do complete a row of activities. We highly recommend students engage in this learning and teachers will be encouraging students to do so when we have advanced notice of oncoming inclement weather.
Thank you for all the ways in which you partner with us in your child's education.
Sincerely,
Molly Hollihan
Principal, Chippewa Middle School
