I BELIEVE You Matter!!
I Believe in Seeing the Problem, Owning the Problem
We believe in you matter, we believe in relationships, we believe in helping others be successful, we believe in living above the line, and we believe in keeping our day. This month, our focus combines these Top 20 facets with See the Problem, Own the Problem.
Throughout our day, each of us is faced with problems resulting in conflict and each of us deals with those conflicts differently. I love this part of the clip "de Nile is not a river in Egypt. Denial is however, one of the most common problems when it comes to solving conflict." Living in a Top 20 environment, we are reminded to See the Problem and Own the Problem. Imagine how many conflicts can be avoided if we follow the Frame, remembering how we SEE something influences how we feel, how we FEEL influences what we do, what we DO influences what we get, and what we GET reinforces how we see it. Reflect for a moment on a recent conflict you were faced with. How do you see the problem? Did you smooth the conflict over, bury your head in the sand, choose to ignore the problem, or own the problem? We know there are unmet needs causing problems; our job is to determine if the needs can be met. We can solve problems without anger, aggression, gossiping, and sulking by Seeing the Problem and Owning the Problem. Approach the cause of the problem and reach out for assistance if your strategies are not delivering resolution. After all, we are one TEAM working together to do what's best for our students... let's model that with every opportunity!
January 26th Early Release Schedule
To clarify our schedule for the 26th, please note that the intent of the schedule is to provide time for staff to meet collaboratively throughout our time together. We will meet in the CSE media center, breaking into grade level groups upon arrival. Grade level teams will maneuver through the Pillars, Data, and Math Expressions schedule collectively.
Please bring a device and writing utensil. Screening to Intervention data will be prepared for you in advance. Math Expressions learning targets, which grade-level train the trainers created today, will be available and serve as a plan for the final portion of our afternoon. Administrative and instructional staff will be present as a resource and to offer support as needed.
Please keep in mind that our schedule may vary slightly due to collaborative efforts and predicted efficacy within each item on the agenda. This mindset allows reflection of collaboration as a process of participation through which people, groups, and organizations work together to achieve positive outcomes, address issues, and share resources.

As we continue to focus on our World's Best Workforce reading goals, this week's emphasis is on non-fiction text. THIEVES is a Close Reading strategy that assists students in an in-depth preview of non-fiction text. The goal of THIEVES is for our students to identify a purpose with confident independence after guided practice with an adult. For further information, please access this link: ReadWriteThink.org
