Cullman City Primary School
Dear CCPS families,
I certainly hope the month of March brings sunshine, flowers and spring to Cullman! This past month, our teachers and staff were able to take part in professional development and we focused on learning how to ask higher order questions to our students. We also celebrated Dr. Seuss week with lots of fun activities for our students
At the end of January, Dr. Mackey, our Alabama State School Superintendent visited CCPS! He toured our campus and was very complimentary of our hard working teachers and staff and impressed with the work that our students are doing in their classroom.
We will offer substitute training on March 5 at 5:00 PM at our central office. Please call our office if you have any questions.
April 23-May 2, we will begin pre-registration for rising in-district families and out of district families who have a sibling enrolled in Cullman City Schools. This year, we are inviting local preschools to tour the school with rising kindergarten students during the week of April 15-19. More information about these tours will be sent home from our local preschools. We hope to see you at the Primary School!
Students in Mrs. Bates class completed a literacy project this month. Students polled classmates to determine reading interests, developed a budget and chose books for their classroom library!
Isabella and Addison from Mrs. Doering's classroom shared their writing with me this month. They wrote about African American heroes.
Mrs. Brown's kindergarten class visited the first grade Shark class to listen to their writing. Both kindergarten and first grade students enjoyed and benefited from this experience!
