Saxton Newsletter 25.6.21

Thank you for continuing to support our Coronavirus restrictions. Although we have had a small outbreak in school this week, the protocols seem to have contained this within just one bubble, which shows that they are effective. We sincerely hope that there will not be any further disruption caused. PHE have advised us to take a cautious approach going forward, and so we will continue to plan carefully for events that are due to take place before the end of term.

We expect to be able to provide you with an end of year report before the end of term. The format will be very slightly different this year, and we hope that this will provide an accurate picture of your child’s current strengths and weaknesses.

Our oldest children have had a brilliant time on their residential visit this week. They behaved incredibly well and attempted every task with courage and determination. We are very proud of them all. You can see photos of their activities on our Facebook page. Thank you to Miss Holgate and Mr Rich for accompanying the visit.

Big Blue Day - 2nd July

Next week is our Big Blue Day – Friday 2nd July. The Eco Warriors invite everyone to wear blue on that day to raise awareness about environmental hazards to marine life. Did you know that pollution has been reported to be one of the five main drivers of the current biodiversity crisis, threatening 40% of marine mammals with extinction? If you would like to make a contribution to the work of the Marine Conservation Society, this can be done through ParentPay.

Maple's Monday Mocktail Madness

From Monday 28th June until the end of term, Maple will be selling Mocktails in the playground after school. All the profits go towards the Year 5/6 end of term treat. All the mocktails will be £1, so please bring the exact change if possible.

FOSS Sponsored Cycle

There are only a few days left take part in the FOSS Sponsored Cycle for June. Please try to do more cycling and help raise money that will help provide things for all children in school.

Please enter how far the children cycle each week on this form.

School Lunches

Next week we will be on Week 2 of the lunch menu below.

Children can decide daily whether they are having a school dinner or packed lunch.

Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.

Each day there are 3 choices, either the hot dinner, the sandwich or the jacket potato with a choice of topping. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.
