This is week we are so excited to welcome our 5th and 6th graders to campus for distribution. Even though this is an opportunity for you to pick up school materials - it is our opportunity to say goodbye and wish you a restful summer. We look forward to seeing you all!

What if I have children in both 5th and 6th grade?

Please email both children's homeroom teacher and indicate which day and time you will drive through. The teachers will communicate and make sure the both student's materials are together.

Should I plan to be there when distribution opens?

We are so excited to see everyone - but we are worried about backing up traffic on Gosling. Please consider spacing out your planned arrival time to Collins.

Please look at the attached document to review all lost general lost items at Collins. There is a number attached to each picture. If you find something your child lost - please use the link on the page to complete the form. The teacher will be notified and place it in your child's bag being prepared for distribution.

Library & Classroom ELA Book Drop Off

May 5th – May 21st – Library and Classroom ELA books:


  • Bins will be place outside the front of the school from 8-6:30 starting on May 5th and running to May 21st.
  • Please place classroom ELA books in the Bin labeled “Classroom ELA books.”
  • Please place books in a bag with their ELA teacher’s name on it so books can be returned to the correct teacher.
  • Also, please place Library book in the bin labeled “Library Books”.

Library Book End of Year procedures


Starting Tuesday May 5, library books can be returned to the front of the school daily between 8am and 3 pm in the marked bins. Please make sure it is a library book and not a classroom title. All Collins books have a barcode sticker on the back of the book and a call number label on the spine of the book. Books will be scanned in at least 24 hours after they are turned in. Overdue/check out notices will be emailed weekly on Monday or Tuesday so that you know what has been accounted for. Also, students can see what books they have checked out any time by accessing their account in Destiny, through the district’s SSO system.


If you need to pay for a lost or damaged book, please write a check made out to Collins Intermediate for the exact amount. You must have a driver’s license number and date of birth on the check. Put the check in an envelope with the student’s name and title of the book you are paying for. Secure the envelope and turn it into the paper packet, work return box, also on the front porch of the school. If you find the library book after you have paid for it, it is yours to keep. Refunds will not be available.

Chromebook Returns / Drop Off

June 1st – June 2nd – Chromebook Drop Off

  • Chromebook Drop Off will be in the front of the school.
  • Parents will pull up and place the Chromebook on the cart next to their driver side door. Mr. Barnhart will retrieve the Chromebook, verify that the correct Chromebook has been returned, and give a “thumbs up.”
  • Once the “thumbs up” has been given please pull forward and exit.

May 18th - May 22nd packets available outside the front doors of Collins in the filing cabinet.


Work can still be found for the week of May 4th - May 8th towards the back of the filing cabinet drawer.


Please leave completed work in the locked drop off box attached to the top of the filing cabinet.

School Supplies

The PTO will offer pre-packaged school supplies for online purchase starting in late spring (delivered directly to classrooms in August). Purchasing an order through the EPI company is a final purchase and the PTO will not be able to refund price of school supply kit.

There will not be a supply kit to order for 7th grade. Mr. Daw recommends you keep watch on the Knox website for information about school supplies students will need for next school year.
