News from the Simmons Home and School Association

***Thanksgiving Baskets***

For thirteen years, Simmons families have worked together and donated meals to families in need for Thanksgiving. This year we hope to provide 25 families with complete Thanksgiving Meals. SignUp Geniuses were sent out November 5th for each grade to donate items.

On Tuesday November 26th all items will be collected and packed for delivery or pickup. If you would like to help volunteer for this event, a sign-up will also be coming soon. Thank you for your generosity in keeping this tradition going. Any questions please contact co-chairs Kimberly Brock-Weinstein or Tina Marie Kinnear

***Simmons Pie Fundraiser***

Back by popular demand! Let Lochel's Bakery do the work for you. Order their delicious pies and serve them at Thanksgiving or bring them to a family member or friend. Pie fliers and order forms went home this week with your oldest student.

Please return completed forms, cash or checks payable to ‘Simmons HSA’ for the total amount due in an envelope labeled ‘Pie Fundrasier’ by Wednesday, November 13th. Pie pick-up will be in the Simmons Cafeteria on Tuesday, November 26th from 5-7pm.

Simmons will receive a percentage of all pies ordered. Thank you for your support!!

Need another copy of the flier or order form? They can be found on the Simmons Website in the HSA section.

For questions, please contact Amy Tagliaferi

Join the HHEF for an exciting evening event open to children ages 5-12! On Monday, November 25 at 6pm, students and teachers from Hatboro-Horsham High School's Manufacturing Lab will host an opportunity for kids to tour their lab and see its amazing machinery, to watch the high school students craft a winter-inspired ornament, and for the kids to paint one of the ornaments while enjoying snacks and sips! The HHEF has invested over $25,000 to integrate the latest engineering and manufacturing equipment into the Lab, and we hope the children will be inspired by the incredible opportunities awaiting them in their high school years. This is also a fantastic opportunity for kids to make the perfect, personalized holiday gift for a special person in his or her life. Registration is $15.

Volunteer Information

Any adult who will be in the classrooms (for any reason) or for field trips are required to have a volunteer photo i.d. badge issued by the Hatboro-Horsham School District. The required clearances are free and any adult (including parents, grandparents and other family members) can complete the process. The volunteer credentials are good for five years. We appreciate the time and commitment that our volunteers offer to enhance our school! Here's the link to the district website which includes all the information about volunteer clearances:
