PTA/Volunteer Appreciation Week!
Donations for Multicultural Books Needed
Our Four Points community is the home to many families from around the world. There is so much that we can learn from one another – inside and outside of the classroom. At FPMS, we would like to create a space so that your family’s unique culture can be explored by others through a powerful medium… books. In order to achieve this goal, our school will be accepting donations of books written in different languages. These titles will be available for all students to peruse so that they may discover a culture that is as unique as each child in our school. If you have titles that you would like to donate, they can be placed in the bin located in the foyer at the front of the school. Thank you for your support of your child’s education within our global community.
Thank you,
April Stone

VHS - Fund the Field!
Viper parents,
We are starting our first capital campaign in Vandegrift football history. We are attempting to raise money to turf the “D-Zone” at Monroe Memorial Stadium. The benefits are many with this improvement.
This fund-raising campaign is in addition to our normal fundraising efforts, above our normal operating budget. We know this is a large ask, but have no doubt the benefit of increased practice space. With the largest football program in LISD, we have outgrown our turf space.
When we practice all groups on the turf, multiple groups have to wait in line or get limited reps due to just simply no space to safely work. We are planning on moving the defensive line, offensive line and linebackers and running backs to this area, opening up the entire field for QB’s, DB’s and WR’s. This would be a huge benefit to ALL football players in the program.
In addition to more athletes being able to practice, other sports will benefit from this space.
Please see flyer with details and diagram below and link below the flyer.
Thank you for your consideration to donate to this worthy cause. Your donation is tax deductible.
Thanks again!
Go Vipers!

2020 Majestic Audition Information!
Tryout Clinic on March 24 and March 25 (4:00-5:30 pm)
The tryout season is upon us and we are SO excited about our upcoming year. Please read over the enclosed information regarding the Majestics Dance Team, our tryout requirements, and other important information about how to become a Majestic Dance Team Member.
We, the Directors of the FPMS Majestics, believe that an exemplary dance program is an extension of the classroom. As such, being a part of the dance team offers an opportunity to develop and grow physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
There are many positive benefits that participation in dance team offers, such as: developing dance technique and performance skills, fostering self-discipline and self-confidence, encouraging selflessness, promoting team spirit and nurturing an appreciation for artistic endeavors.
Our team is a unique group of highly motivated young ladies that work together to achieve great things. If you'd like to be a part of our Majestic family, or are interested in learning more about the program, read over the material in this flyer and/or make plans to attend the 'Meet the Directors' session to be held on Thursday, March 4th from 4:30-5:00pm.

How Much does Majestics Cost?
The cost of Majestics changes each year depending on vendors and quantities ordered. On average, the overall cost of all uniforms, practice wear, and line camp will total around $450-500.
We split that payment into two smaller payments:
- A non-refundable deposit of $250 is due on or before March 25, 2020.
- The remaining balance is due on the day of the fitting, April 21, 2020.
Payments are made to Ovation Dance. They accept cash, check, and credit cards to make payments as easy as possible.
Important Things to Know BEFORE Trying Out for the Team:
- Majestics is a year-long commitment.
- We practice on Monday and Friday mornings (7:30-8:40 am) and on Tuesday afternoons (4:00-5:30 pm).
- We have special Performances throughout the year, such as Football games on Tuesday evenings. We also compete which requires two Saturdays in February. Spring Show requires one Saturday in May.
- Attendance at practices/rehearsals/performances is one of the MOST important parts of our program. Please see the handbook for a description of what are ‘excusable’ absences.
- Membership can be revoked for: Ineligibility for more than 6 weeks; Assignment to ISS or suspension; Accumulation of demerits (see handbook for more info); Missing Line Camp (see dates below) without an exemption.

FPMS Art Students Are Ready to Create!
Got Carboard Tubes?
The Art room is in need of cardboard tubes, especially tubes from the inside of paper towel rolls. If you are able collect them and send them to the art room, it would be hugely appreciated! Students are making cardboard constructions.
I want to make sure my students have the materials and experiences they need to succeed, so I just created a request for my classroom at DonorsChoose:
FPMS Art Students Are Ready to Create!.
If you chip in to help my students, you'll get awesome photos and our heartfelt thanks.
P.S. If you know anyone who may want to help my classroom, please pass this along!
Check it out: FPMS Art Students Are Ready to Create
Please respond to directly by emailing me at maggie.suisman@leanderisd.org.
Thanks so much,

Message from Leander ISD Health Services Department:
LISD Health Services is aware of and monitoring developments around the outbreak of a respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus. Based on current information, the CDC has stated “that the immediate health risk from 2019-nCoV to the general American public is considered low at this time.” Although the risk is considered low at this time, campus nurses will continue to work with campus administration to help remind students and staff of everyday actions they can take to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses.
Here are some friendly reminders to help stay virus-free this season:
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds
• If soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Cover your cough
- Cough and sneeze into a tissue then throw it away, or cough and sneeze into your upper shirt sleeve, completely covering your mouth and nose
• Wash your hands after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose
• Disinfect frequently touched surfaces, and objects such as toys and doorknobs
• Stay at home while you are sick.
• Call and inform the Campus Nurse of any confirmed virus diagnosis.
LISD follows the Texas Department of Health Guidelines for illness-related exclusions from school. A student will be sent home if they have a fever of 100.0 Fahrenheit or higher, or any other contagious symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) and will need to remain home until symptom free for twenty-four (24) hours, without the use of medications.
Health Services will continue to monitor and communicate with the Texas Health Department on any new information. As well as continue to update and work with LISD custodial services to maintain a clean learning environment for our students and staff. Here is a link for more information regarding the 2019 Novel Coronavirus.
