Notes from the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Recently, we have noticed an increase in tardies in the morning. Please note that school begins at 8:00am. Instruction actually begins at that time. We need all of our students in class and ready to learn by 8:00.

We recognize that our car rider line can be long in the morning. We start unloading cars between 7:35-7:40. We work as quickly as we can to unload cars in a safe and efficient manner. If you arrive to the parking lot after 8:00, you will need to get out of your car and come in to sign your child in. The breakfast line closes at 8:15, so students who arrive after that time will not be able to get breakfast.

Students who are chronically late are at a big disadvantage and at a greater risk of failing in school. We need your help in making sure that all of our Armadillos are at school on time.

Having said all of this, please do NOT drop your child off in front of the school before Moore staff is outside for car rider duty. We have had a lot of students dropped off early and it is not safe for them to be outside unsupervised.

Thank you for your help with this.

Student ID Badges

It is an expectation of the district that all students have a two student ID badges. One badge is used for things such as the cafeteria and the library and the other badge is used for transportation. It is very important that all students have both badges. If you have received a notice that your child has lost or damaged their badge, please send in $5.00 so that it can be replaced.

Thank you for your assistance with this matter.

Last Minute Transportation Changes

Please remember that any end of day transportation changes need to be made by 2:30pm. We don't have extra staff to deliver these changes to classrooms, so when they occur after 2:30, it makes it difficult to get them to the students. Our goal is to always be accurate with our end of day transportation. Thank you for helping us with this.

Lunch Visitors Guidelines

We are very happy that we have parent lunch visitors back! Please make sure to read the guidelines for lunch visitors below.

1. A student may only have ONE visitor at a time (please do not bring younger siblings)

2. A student may only have one visitor per week

3. Please do not bring anything other than lunch (no decorations, balloons, table settings, etc.)

We have over 1000 students this year at Moore and our cafeteria seating is very limited. Thank you for helping us by following these procedures.

We do not accept deliveries for students during the day. The only exception to this is eye glasses and medications. If a student forgets their lunch, they will be able to go through the lunch line at no cost. All students will be receiving free breakfast and lunch this school year.

Thank you for helping us with this practice.

PTO's goal this year is to grow our membership and our volunteer presence on campus! Please go to our website and register your family. On the website, you can create a profile for your family, join the PTO, and order spirit wear. If you are interested in volunteering, you can add the categories that you might be available for in your profile. The link is here -

Student Items

Please make sure to label your child's items (jackets, lunch kits, backpack, water bottles, ect.) It makes it much easier to return lost items when they are labeled. We do not have the storage space for a dedicated lost and found. By making sure items are labeled, we can help return them to the correct owner.

Mask Reminder

While CFISD does not have a mask mandate in place, we are encouraging all students and staff to wear one. Students need to provide their own masks this year. We do not have masks to distribute like we did last year.

Thank you.

Daily Health Self Screening

  • Daily Health Self-Screening - Parents must screen students daily (prior to entering a school bus or school) for the following signs and symptoms of COVID-19:

1. Are you experiencing any of the following in a way that is not normal to you?

• Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.00 F

• Loss of taste or smell

• Cough

• Difficulty breathing

• Shortness of breath

• Fatigue

• Headache

• Chills

• Sore throat

• Congestion or runny nose

• Shaking or exaggerated shivering

• Significant muscle pain or ache

• Diarrhea

• Nausea or vomiting

2. Have you had known close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 14 days?

Students must stay home if they answer “yes” to any of the above. Any student who tests positive for COVID-19 and has been on campus for class or an extracurricular activity must report the test results to the campus nurse.

Bus Information

All CFISD students are eligible to ride the bus. Students will be required to wear their masks and will sanitize their hands as they board and exit the bus. Drivers will sanitize the buses between routes. For more information on bus stops, bus numbers and times, please go to the CFISD website and look at the transportation tab found under Parents/Students.

Remember an adult MUST be at the bus stop at the end of the day to receive any PK, Kindergarten or 1st grade student. The driver will not release them from the bus if an adult is not present.

Car Riders

If your child is a car rider this year, you must register for a car rider number and tag. This form can be found on the Moore Website under the Back to School tab. Our car rider system is designed to be efficient and safe. Please follow all directions from school staff. The beginning of the year always runs a little slower than usual, but if everyone will be patient and follow the rules, we will be able to get students loaded and unloaded more quickly. For everyone's safety, we cannot allow you to park and walk in to pick up your child.
