We Engage We Educate We Inspire
Hello Stallions!
Last week we had our first Stampede of the year at it was awesome! At these monthly assemblies, we recognize our students for their successes. We recognize three students from each grade level who exhibited our three core characteristics, Safe, Respectful and Engaged (SRE). We recognize several students for doing a great job in reading with Barnes and Noble gift cards provided by the Foresters organization. A highlight of each Stampede is that we recognize one student for showing great character with a new bike. The Gilbert Kiwanis provides the bike each month thanks to a donation from Dawn Garcia our neighborhood HomeSmart realtor (http://www.dawngarciayourazrealtor.com). Steve Edman from Horace Mann helps us recognize our faculty member and support staff member of the month. We get really loud; our mascot makes an appearance and joins the students in singing our school song. It really is a fun time.
Our students receiving recognition for being SAFE this month are Christine Johnson (K), Dayton Thackeray (1st), Liam Roan (2nd), Vance Thackeray (3rd), Gavin Black (4th), Brady Kimble (5th), Brinli Fletcher (6th) and my pick, Micha Kelhi (1st). Our students recognized for being RESPECTFUL this month are Hannah Arevalo (K), Deliza Cantua (1st), Gracie Martini (2nd), Jordan Wesley (3rd), Mia Conti (4th), Cole Irvin (5th), Evan Westenskow (6th) and my pick Avery Louck (2nd). Our students recognized for being ENGAGED this month are Kallen Marcks (K), Macie Anderson (1st), Aubrey Kitterman (2nd), Sakeena Baig (3rd), Austin Lane (4th), Michelle Pacheco (5th), Ava Saenz Rivas (6th) and my pick, Calvin Rogers (K). The following students received a $10 Barnes and Noble gift certificate thanks to the Foresters organization are Arieana Schoen, Paysen Keys, Ryan Johnson, Ahmed Al Qaderi, Samuel Reijonen, and Ciaran Tara. And finally, for showing amazing character all last month, Dru Pope went home with a bicycle on Friday thanks to Dawn Garcia and Gilbert Kiwanis. Our employees of the month were Kiana Slater, our Kindergarten SPICE I teacher, and Ramon Acuna-Acosta our building manager.
Our first Stampede of the year was a great success and lots of fun!
Our KinderStallions are still working on their colors! This week they learn the color blue. On Thursday it would be great if everyone wore some blue!
Friday morning is going to be busy at the Ranch! It is our annual Grandparents Day celebration! Grandparents Day is such a treat for the students. They are thrilled at the opportunity to have their grandparents (or parents, or aunts and uncles, etc.) visit the Ranch. This year our Grandparents Day celebration will take place in the morning from 8:25 – 9:30 AM. The Ranch will open our doors at 8:25 on Friday. Grandparents are invited to enjoy a doughnut and milk/juice with their student in the cafeteria, visit the Book Fair in our library and even head outside to the playground. It should be a great way to start our day on Friday. At 9:30 AM we will ask for all students to return to their classrooms so we can begin our school day. We are looking forward to all our grandparent visitors!
