Week of February 1-5

Playground Use

The small playground in the front of our school is reserved Monday through Friday, from 2:45-5:30 p.m. for our KidzU after school care program. We've had such wonderful weather lately that many families are wanting to stay and play after school. Please note that the large playground is available for community use. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter!

Voter Registration

Are you a registered voter? If not, now is the time to be sure you register to vote. We have important district elections that are taking place in 2016 that need your voice. For more information on the May 7 election, click the following link:

If you are not currently registered to vote, you may fill out an informal online application here: Once you have completed the application, you will need to print the documents and send them into the Tarrant County voter registrar's office (Voter Registration Tarrant County Elections at 2700 Premier Street Fort Worth, Texas 76111-3011) Early voting begins on April 25, 2016 and early voting ends on May 3, 2016.

Valentine's Day Parties

All GES Valentine’s parties will be held on Friday, 2/12, at 1:45. If you are planning to attend this party with your student(s), please consider signing up for a Fast Pass. All visitors and volunteers who plan on attending the Valentine's Day parties will need to check in and receive a badge in the front office. We will be utilizing our normal Raptor badge system which requires a valid photo ID. If you would like to speed up the process in obtaining your badge, please contact us ahead of time and we will have your badge pre-printed and available in our "Fast Pass" line*. You may start notifying us beginning Monday, 2/1, by emailing Heather Hedges ( *This "Fast Pass" will only work if you have been at GES this school year and we have already scanned your photo ID. Any visitor who has not been here, or didn't let us know in advance, will have to wait while photo IDs are scanned and their badge is processed. Please note that a photo ID will be shown in order to pick up your fast pass and as always, to check in to the system for the first time. Please email Heather Hedges before Wednesday, February 10 at 3:30pm to avoid the crowds and long waits on Friday. Room parents can check in at 1:15 to set up for class parties. Also, please note that students will NOT be signed out early from their classrooms or party locations. Any student leaving before 2:45 will need to proceed to the front office with an adult to be checked out. Students who leave early will receive a partial day absence.

We hope you will take advantage of our "Fast Pass" concept and avoid the crowds and long waits. We appreciate your support as we work to improve a process while ensuring the safety and security of all of our GES Stars!
