Racial Profiling
Should racial profiling be used?
Is it accurate?
According to the graph racial profiling is not close too being accurate. It shows that black people are the most to have their car searched but white people were the ones that were found with contraband. Latinos were also being searched more than white people but the outcome was the same. This graph shows that racial profiling is not accurate.
Is it working?
It is not working. A strong reason for law enforcement officers to target minorities, particularly Black and Hispanic motorists, is the because of the common belief that they are more likely to be violating laws. There are studies that show that Blacks and Whites were equally likely to have contraband found when they or their cars were searched and there are at least nine other studies have been released that show the same result.
