DMS Weekly Family Newsletter

Conductor Corner
This week we will be holding times to return student's locker belongings including their gym lockers as well collect any textbooks, library books, or books borrowed from teachers that students are no longer using. You will find the information for the pick up below. Please follow the directions to make sure we keep everyone as safe as possible and can efficiently return items. Please feel free to stagger your arrival to reduce wait times.
I included a link to a virtual calming room that may be interesting and helpful for both students and adults. I enjoyed watching some of the live cameras that are placed at zoos. There are many activities on the website that can help with anxiety and are also enjoyable.
This week, I want to challenge all students to reach out to a friend by mail, email, or phone call. It is important to maintain social relationships and it is also a great opportunity to work on communication skills. There is something very special about getting a letter in the mail from a friend.
Have a wonderful Railroader Week!

Locker Items and Book Exchange
Dear Middle School Families,
We have put together a plan to return items to students as well as to collect all books that belong to the school and/or teachers that your child is no longer using and has at home. Please make note of the following plan so we can safely and efficiently exchange your child's items:
- Please write your child's first name, last name, and grade level in large and bold writing on a piece of paper. If you have more than one child that attends DMS, you only need to come one time to collect items. Please write the names of all children and their grade levels on the paper.
- Please place any books to be returned in the trunk of your vehicle.
- Pull up to the main entrance of the school in the circle drive and hold the sign with your child's name and grade up to the window facing the main entrance. Please stay in your vehicle.
- Please pop the trunk of your vehicle.
- A school employee will then take any books to be returned out of your trunk, place any gym and regular locker items that belong to your child in the trunk, and close the trunk for you.
Please follow the schedule below and feel free to stagger to reduce wait times:
