Congratulations to freshman Maggie Eidel, who was named to the All State Orchestra! Maggie plays the French Horn and previously made both the All South Jersey Wind Ensemble and All South Jersey Orchestra.

Congrats to Sophie Regenye and Joelle Mascaro for being awarded 1st place in the Trashy Costume Contest.

Congratulations to our girls swim team for doing an excellent job in Counties this past weekend. Hailey Poulos led the team with a commanding win in the 500 and 2nd place finish in the 200 free. Courtney McCann finished 6th and 10th in the 200 and 6th in the 500. Sophomore Kaitlin Culbert finished 2nd in both the 50 and 100. Serrina Flores finished 11th in the 100 free and picked up a shore conference cut in the 100 breast. Kyran Thievon had a 13th place finish. The 50 free and hundred breast all five girls contributed on relays as well. Great swims we're also had by Caitlin Poulos, Gianna Shomali, Ashley Morel Param, Angela Pontipiedra, Ellie Swain, and Karli Valenti.

Congratulations to the Boys Swim Team on their impressive performance at the Ocean County Championships this past weekend Aidan DeBiasi took first place in the 50 Freestyle and First place in the 100 Butterfly with a new meet record of 50.86. Adam Mekrami took second in the 200 freestyle and 1st place in the 500 freestyle. Great job by all. Good luck tomorrow against Brick Memorial.

8th Grade Parent Night

Thursday, Jan. 27 HS North is holding 8th Parent Night. The virtual presentation starts at 6 PM and will provide 8th grade parents with information regarding High School scheduling, classes available, graduation requirements and more. Authentic Science Research students Julietta Onofrietti & Katie Culbert were named 2022 American Junior Academy of Science Fellows. They will be presenting their research at the AJAS/NAAS (Junior Academy of Science/National Association of Academies of Science) Conference in Philadelphia.

Vivianna Onofrietti has been selected for the Fifth Annual NYIT Mini-Research Grant

Award in the amount of $300.00 for her research proposal “Effects of plant substances in inhibiting
prominent pathogenic oral bacteria”

Maddie DiEugenio remotely used a Scanning Electron Microscope, Raman microscope and spectrometer with Caltech's Paul Asimow to analyze plastics found in fish guts from fish caught of the coast of NJ. The outreach project is part the NACK Network sponsored by Penn State.

High School Scheduling Information for the 2022-23 School Year

The Guidance will be making visits to student's history classes to go over their scheduling options for the next school year.

10th Graders: Monday, 2/7

11th Graders: Tuesday, 2/8

9th Graders: Thursday, 2/10

After the visits, students and parents will be able to enter course requests through the parent portal. More information on selecting courses in the portal will follow in the coming weeks.

Certain programs can fill quickly, so apply ASAP.
