MSSA Bias and Content Review Panels
The PED is seeking input from teachers, administrators, and professional volunteers in the development of MSSA. The purpose is to review passages to ensure they are grade-level appropriate, free of unwanted errors, and devoid of topics that can be biased or sensitive. Interested applicants can apply here or by using this QR code. Applications must be received by March 6 and will receive notifications by March 7.

- ELA Passage Bias/Sensitivity Review Meeting - March 29 and 30 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
The Priority Schools Bureau is thrilled to announce an additional professional learning opportunities for Creating Safe and Supportive Learning Environments (CSSLE) and would like to invite you to register today.
Teams will consist of:
- The School Leader (or a teacher leader leading a cohort)
- 2 additional team participants . (This can be any combination of teachers, counselors, coaches, school therapists, social workers, etc.)
In this one-day training participants will be able to:
- Identify the purpose and process of Creating Safe and Supportive Learning Environments through examining the basic parts of the function of the brain and how those manifest behavior and adverse experiences
- Examine how the three Rs, Regulate Relate and Reason, impact student learning.
- Discuss differences between regulation and dysregulation
- Compare traditional reactions to safe and supportive responses that are restorative and trauma informed
- Identify how culture and bias influence our perceptions of how we respond and react and
- Identify the significance of student voice and agency
Training Opportunities
It is the responsibility of the School Leader to register their entire team. We have two scheduled in-person learning events scheduled:
- March 4, 2023, Sheraton Uptown, Albuquerque NM, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.
Know Before You Go:
- Lodging will be provided for those travel 60-miles or more one way
- Mileage is the responsibility of the participant
- Light Breakfast and Lunch will be provided
- Registration, Networking, and light breakfast begins at 7:00am
- Professional Learning begins at 8:00am through 3:30pm
