Infinite Campus
Transportation
In order to access your child's bus route information you need to login to your Waukesha School District Infinite Campus parent portal account. You would have set up a user name and password when you registered your children for Kindergarten.
BUS ROUTE INFORMATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN YOUR PARENT PORTAL.
To find your child's bus route information:
- Log into your Infinite Campus (IC) Parent Portal.
- Along the left side (black background), click More.
- In the middle section (white background), click Transportation (you will not see a Transportation section at this time; it will not be available until closer to the start of the school year)
- Under Bus Detail you will find the morning bus # , pick up location and pick up time as well as the afternoon bus #, drop off location and drop off time.
There is a form available on the Rose Glen website (link: Transportation to Alternate Location Request Form) if you need to change your child’s bus due to child care. This is needed even if your child will be attending the Lawrence Center for before or after school care. Please complete the form and send it in as soon as possible because at the beginning of the school year, changes can take up to 14 days to take effect due to the large volume of scheduling. If you can submit it prior to school starting there is a much better chance that your child’s schedule will be set by the time school starts.
Before and After School Care
Cool School Program Link:
Drop Off Procedures
Rose Glen is a relatively large elementary school. Each year we typically have 11 busses bringing our students to and from school each day. Unfortunately, we have a relatively small parking lot to handle the before and after school traffic that is present daily. Therefore, it is critical that we all work together to follow the established procedures for pick-up and drop-off. When we all follow the established the procedures everything flows really well and safety is maintained! Most students at Rose Glen take the bus to and from school each day. If your child is being dropped off and picked up each day then below we have the following procedures. Also know that our procedures will always be available to you in our weekly Smore Newsletter.
GOALS:
To ensure that we are creating the safest environment and procedures possible for morning drop-off.
To ensure that all Rose Glen community members are aware of the current drop-off procedures.
CIDER HILLS CROSSING:
A crosswalk has been added to provide a safe pathway for families from Rose Glen to the Cider Hills neighborhood. Additionally, STOP signs have also been added to slow cars down and to ensure that families are able to cross without having to worry about on-coming traffic. These STOP signs will be activated from 8:25-8:40 and 3:30-3:50.
General Drop-Off Procedures:
Walkers' Circle is the horseshoe shaped entrance and exit located on the side of the building. All cars should enter through the ENTRANCE ONLY of Walkers' Circle to drop children off.
There is NO PARKING IN WALKERS’ CIRCLE. It is intended for fluid drop-off of children. Please exit quickly and cautiously. Be mindful that others are waiting to drop-off and unnecessary stopping causes delays and interferes with the purpose of Walkers Circle.
Cars can exit and turn left from the left lane or turn right from the right lane. NO U-Turns, no Y-Turn, no backing up and out through the entrance, or using the neighborhood cul-de-sac. Traffic either goes right or left out of the circle.
Children should use the sidewalk of Walkers’ Circle to walk to the hill. No children should be seen leaving the car from the driver’s side of the car. All children exiting the car should leave from the passenger side of the car.
Cars should pull up on the right side of the Walkers’ Circle.
- No cars should use the left lane of Walkers’ Circle to park or drop-off children. This lane will be open so that cars can safely pull into the left side for left turn exiting purposes.
- If you want to walk your child up the hill in the morning please do not park in the circle. Please pull ahead and park on the road. This will allow Walkers' Circle to keep moving.
- No parking on Brookhill Drive that runs parallel to Walkers’ Circle (the grassy part of the Walkers’ Circle). This will allow cars turning both left and right to have a clear view of oncoming traffic. Cars that park next to grass area closest to the Walkers’ Circle create a blindspot. Therefore, moving forward we would like to reduce this risk and make this a No Parking Zone.
- 4K students and Mrs. Coffey's Kindergarten class can be dropped off in the school parking lot by the 4K doors. Parents should park and walk their children to the 4K door.
Pick-Up Procedures
GOALS:
To ensure that we are creating the safest environment and procedures possible for afternoon pick-up.
To ensure that all Rose Glen community members are aware of the current pick-up procedures.
CIDER HILLS NEIGHBORHOOD CROSSING!
If you live in the Cider Hills neighborhood a teacher or staff member will escort your child and cross them to the neighborhood. Please contact us prior to school starting if your child will be utilizing the Cider Hills crosswalk . This will allow us to connect with them prior to the end of the day and ensure that we have all the students that we will be walking across to the neighborhood. We want them to know the plan and be comfortable with the end of the day procedures.
General Pick-Up Procedures:
All cars should enter through the ENTRANCE ONLY to pick children up.
There is NO PARKING IN WALKERS’ CIRCLE. It is intended for fluid pick-up of children. Please exit quickly and cautiously. Be mindful that others are waiting to pick-up and unnecessary stopping causes delays and interferes with the purpose of Walkers Circle.
Cars can exit and turn left from the left lane or turn right from the right lane. NO U-Turns, no Y-Turn, no backing up and out through the entrance, or using the neighborhood cul-de-sac. Traffic either goes right or left out of the circle.
Children should use the sidewalk of Walkers’ Circle to walk to enter the car. No children should be seen entering the car from the driver’s side of the car. All children entering the car should be seen entering from the passenger side of the car.
Do not park in the neighborhood cul-de-sac. There are already signs posted and we need to adhere to these posted signs out of respect for our neighbors.
Cars only use the right side of the Walkers’ Circle.
No cars should use the left lane of Walkers’ Circle to pick children up. This lane will be open so that cars can safely pull into the left side for left turn exiting purposes.
No parking on Brookhill Drive that runs parallel to Walkers’ Circle (the grassy part of the Walkers’ Circle). This will allow cars turning both left and right to have a clear view of oncoming traffic. Cars that park next to grass area closest to the Walkers’ Circle create a blindspot. Therefore, we would like to reduce this risk and make this a No Parking Zone.
As you use Walkers Circle, it is important to be mindful of keeping the flow going. Drive forward as cars exit. With the left lane open for traffic, then cars should be able to navigate safely and easily out of the Circle. No student will be allowed to enter or cross the circle to get in a vehicle if the vehicle is parked in the left lane.
It is important that cars do not park at the entrance of the hill on Brookhill. This is critical to keeping flow into the circle moving. If a car cannot get into the Circle because another car has chose to park, then the whole flow of the Circle is stopped or slowed down. With these changes we should anticipate that there might be a longer line up Brookhill to get into the Walkers Circle. As kids are picked up in the Circle, then cars will be able to enter from Brookhill to also pick up.
Anticipate that it might take a few extra minutes. A lot of thought has been put into how we can create the safest pick-up possible. Remember that the ultimate goal is child safety. Patience is key during this time of day.
4K students and Mrs. Coffey's Kindergarten class can be picked up in the school parking lot by the 4K doors. Parents should park and walk their children to the 4K door.
SAFE ARRIVAL
The "SafeArrival" system works in conjunction with our district messaging system (School Messenger). It reduces the time it takes to verify student attendance, makes it easier for you to report your child’s absence and makes it easier for staff to respond to unexplained student absences. We would love to have all of our families using this system soon after school starts.
Pre-Excused Absences: If you know your child is going to be absent and you want to report that before the student is marked absent in school, Safe Arrival provides three convenient methods:
1. Using your mobile device, download and install the SchoolMessenger app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store (or from the links at https://go.schoolmessenger.com). The first time you use the app, select Sign Up to create your account. Select Attendance then Report an Absence.
2. Use the SafeArrival website, https://go.schoolmessenger.com. The first time you use the website, select Sign Up to create your account. Select Attendance then Report an Absence.
3. Call the toll-free number 1-866-490-7371 to report an absence using the automated phone system. These options are available 24 hours/day, 7 days a week.
Future absences can be reported at any time.
Post-Excused Absences: If you were not able to report your child’s absence in advance you will be notified by the SchoolMessenger system if your child is marked absent.
You are notified of a reported absence within minutes of the reported absence.
The School Messenger app or the website will allow families to customize where they want to receive their notifications and allow them to excuse the absence right from the notification.
If you report your child’s absence in advance using the SafeArrival toll-free number, website or mobile app, you will NOT receive these notifications.

Too Sick for School
Too Sick for School Guidelines
Deciding when to keep a sick child home from school can be a difficult decision. To help identify illnesses in our schools, parents/guardians are encouraged to report their child’s specific symptoms when calling in sick to the health room at their child’s school. Voice messages can be left for our health room assistants 24 hours a day on a confidential voicemail.
Fevers
A child with a temperature of 100.0 degrees F or higher should not be at school.
A child should be fever free without the use of fever-reducing medication (Tylenol/acetaminophen, Aleve/ibuprofen) for at least 24 hours before returning to school.
If your child has other symptoms such as a rash, skin lesions, sore throat or coughing are present, notify your healthcare provider to discuss the need for medical follow up.
Common Respiratory Illnesses
(these can include Influenza, Pertussis, Common Cold, Croup)
Children with cold symptoms such as minor throat irritation & stuffy/runny nose without a fever should not have to miss school.
If a child has severe cold symptoms (hacking/harsh cough, a very runny nose and/or thick, colored nasal drainage) may need medical attention. Contact your health care provider to determine if your child needs to be seen for evaluation.
Sore Throat
A child with a very painful sore throat, white spots on the back of the throat, high fever, rash, stomach ache and/or headache should stay home from school and be seen by a health care provider to rule out a possible infection.
If diagnosed with strep throat the child must be on antibiotics for a minimum of 24 hours and be fever free without fever reducing medications before returning to school.
Hand, Foot and Mouth/Fifth Disease
A child with hand, foot, and mouth disease is most contagious during the first week of illness. Talk with your healthcare provider about when your child may return to school.
Ear Infection/Ear Pain
Children should stay home until fever free without the use of fever-reducing medication for at least 24 hours. Please notify healthcare provider to discuss the need for medical follow up.
Vomiting, Diarrhea, Stomach Ache
(illnesses may include gastroenteritis, salmonella, rotavirus)
If your child has had more than one episode of diarrhea or vomiting, please keep your child out of school until symptoms have resolved for at least 24 hours. An exception may be made if diarrhea or vomiting are associated with an ongoing medical issue diagnosed by a physician.
Contact your health care provider if your child has a stomach ache that is severe enough to limit or restrict activity.
Rash
If your child has an unusual rash (may or may not be associated with a fever), keep your child at home until you have discussed the rash with your health care provider to determine if medical care is needed.
Pink Eye/Conjunctivitis
Symptoms can include crusty, sticky, itchy, red eyes which may or may not have thick drainage.
Please contact your child’s doctor if your child has any of the following symptoms: eye drainage that comes back every 30 minutes (or more often) after wiping the eye clear, if there is swelling and redness of the area around the eye (below or above), or an eye that is stuck together in the morning. If these symptoms are present, follow up with health care provider is needed prior to returning to school.
Impetigo/MRSA/Ringworm
These skin conditions can be contagious rashes in children and require treatment by a medical professional prior to returning to school.
These can look like a pimple or boil and can be red, swollen, painful, or have pus or other drainage present.
Students should stay home for 24 hours and/or until area is not draining or can be covered safely.
Other skin conditions such as eczema, heat rashes, bug bites and allergic reactions are not infectious, and a child may come to school with them.
Other Contagious/Nuisance Diseases
If your child has been diagnosed with a nuisance infestation/disease such as head lice or scabies, he/she may return to school after treatment has been completed. Please contact your health care provider for instruction if you suspect your child needs treatment.
