Sister Notes - October 2016

Florida Alpha Delta Kappa, Delta Chi Newsletter

A Note from Lisa:

A touch of Fall has made it to Santa Rosa county and I hope you are able to enjoy being outside. I have seen so many Facebook posts of festivals, pumpkin patches, and other events that you are experiencing with friends and family, and it warms my heart.

I would like to thank you all for your participation with our TOY Tea. We had such a large number of our sisters in attendance and were so excited to see some of you that have been unable to attend due to schedule conflicts. I know you are all doing such wonderful things in our schools, our communities, and with your families; but you are truly missed when you can not be with us.

Dues

Please get these to Kelly Barnes as soon as possible. The total is still $100.00, however, the money for scholarships is being used for chapter operations and items such as name tags due to the changing needs of our chapter. The scholarship fund has a healthy balance for a couple of years.

Founder's Day Brunch

Coming up on Saturday, October 22nd is a big event. I hope you received the invitation I forwarded concerning the Founder's Day Brunch, and I encourage you to attend if at all possible. We always have a great time socializing with our sisters from our chapter and from others.

Here are the details:

Location: Spencer Bibbs Training Center, 2005 N. 6th Avenue, Pensacola

Time: 9:30 AM

Cost: $15.00 and may be paid at the door

Reservations Required: Contact Kelly Barnes before October 14

Program and Altruistic Emphasis; Toys for Tots

in addition there will be a collection of new or gently used books for children

or youth for distribution to ADK members affected by the flooding in Louisiana

Founder's Day Month Chapter Activity

Remember our chapter activity for our October meeting. Mo, Founder's Day Chairperson, asked that we all issue a special invitation to 1 or 2 special teachers to attend our meeting on October 25th. This invitation could be accompanied by a small gift which could include the brochures and pencils from our September meeting. We are looking for the personal touch. If you think back to when you joined ADK, it was probably through a personal invitation.

ADK Shirts

Rita has checked with Arrow Embroidery about getting shirts for those who would like them. Stop in at Arrow so that you can try one on for correct sizing and they can take your order. The cost is approximately $40.00.

Thank you ladies for all you do,

Owl Always be your sister, (Opportunity, Wisdom, Love, Sisterhood)
