Weekly Update
May 4-8
Give yourself some grace, you are doing the best you can.
This has been quite a transition for all of us and we want you to know that we are here to provide support and learning opportunities for your students. We understand the demands for every family are different. As working parents we find ourselves, at times, struggling to find balance between the demands of work, the needs of our families and homes as well as making sure our own children are accessing their education from home. We understand and want to encourage you to do the best you can. If you have questions on what or how to prioritize or on how to access instruction for your student we encourage you to reach out to your students teachers. Our counselors and FAN advocates remain ready to serve. We are an email away and want to help where we can. Thank you for your continued partnership.

Student Item Pick Up / Recogida de artículos del alumno
Schedule for student item pick-up at EGMS:
Tuesday May 12th from 1 pm to 7 pm
Wednesday May 13th from 9 am to 4 pm
We have organized two days with varied hours to provide flexible pick up opportunities for all families. Feel free to coordinate with other families/friends/neighbors to have one person pick up the belongings of multiple students. Because of the number of students, it may cause a line of cars. Please be patient and feel free to leave and come back if it is too crowded. We are only going to be exchanging locker contents, PE locker contents, and student medications. We will not be able to hunt for anything else that may be hidden in our school somewhere, nor will we be able to allow other people in the building to search for items. Now is also a time to return any library books, textbooks, or novels from Language Arts that you are not using.
We are asking families to come to the back of the school and use the one way bus lane to pick up your child's belongings. Traffic will flow the best if all families enter the school grounds from Spruce Avenue or 13th street. This is the small frontage road that runs parallel to the football field. All families will then exit the property via NW Upas Ave. Please refer to the following map for directions.
In order to maintain social distancing and state guidelines, we ask that everyone maintain a minimum of 6 feet between themselves and the EGMS team. Please stop when you get to the cones on the south side of the parking lot, closest to the football field and someone will be there to take the names of the students you are picking up for. You may have the names written on paper held up in the window of the car or you may roll down your window and share the names. The team member will radio the names to a team in the commons who will collect the student belongings and deliver to the curb. A member of your family will collect the bag or bags and load them in the car. If you have items to return to the school there will be a drop off box on the curb. Although we have all student belongings organized, it may take a few minutes to find and deliver the items. Thank you for your patience and kindness during this process.
ALL ITEMS NOT PICKED UP THIS WEEK WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE FALL WHEN SCHOOLS REOPEN.

Did you know the Mosaic clinic at Lynch is open 8-5 weekdays (closed 1-2 for lunch). But they're not taking walk-ins now. Families need to call 541-383-3005 to make an appointment and they're not doing COVID-19 testing. So people who think they may have COVID will get a referral to a testing location when they call the clinic.
The RHS school-based health center is closed.
