Principal's Message
Greetings Blackcat Families– What a great start we have had! Our year is flying by, and we are already halfway through our first quarter. So much of our energy, these first couple of weeks have been focused on behavior, and now you will notice our academic expectations and demands will increase. For the last two weeks, your students have been completing their MAP tests. These assessments are important because they let our teachers know what your students know. I've been so impressed by how hard all students have worked at doing their absolute best on these challenging tests. One of the things that makes our Blackcats special, is that they always give their best effort in all activities!
I would like to encourage all families to monitor your student’s grades using Infinite Campus. If you notice low grades, talk with your students and problem-solve together on ways they may improve their grade. If the problem persists, please reach out to your students' classroom teacher. They want to see all of our students being successful, and they welcome your involvement in that work.
One of the ways you can support your students is to help them with organization. We have found that this is an area most students struggle with, and you can help your student find a strategy or method that works for them. I would do a weekly backpack cleanup. This is a small thing that can really help your student to be successful.
Thank you for all that you do to support your students, we know that together… our students will achieve amazing things this year! #BELIEVE #Clawsdown
