PRINCIPAL SAXBERG MESSAGE
Title I and Century PTO Parent Meeting
Please join us at 5:30 pm on Monday, October 2nd in the Century School Library for a Title I
parent informational meeting. Title I is a federal program which provides our school with
funds to hire teachers and staff, and purchase supplies and materials to support our students
with reading and math. Parents are an important part of our school which includes the Title I
program. We want to share how the Title I program benefits our students. The Century PTO is
holding their meeting at 6 PM following the meeting- please stay for that meeting, as well.
Parking Lot
For our students' safety, I ask for patience, flexibility, understanding, and consideration for
others during morning drop off and afternoon pickup of students. The following are important
reminders of our drop-off and pick-up procedures to help traffic flow safely:
1. Use the right lane closest to the school for drop-off and pick-up.
2. Use the left lane for drive through only- Do not park and leave your vehicle in the left lane.
3. Be considerate of others. Do not park behind cars parked in handicap spaces or park behind
someone and leave your car.
4. Do not park on 34th Street, and do not cross in the middle of 34th St.
5. Stop at all crosswalks and stop signs
6. Watch for children and pedestrians at all times
7. Please be patient. We have 420 students who arrive and leave school in a short amount of
time. At the end of the day, by 3:10, almost all students are on their way home in cars, buses,
etc. It may seem like you are going to have to wait a long time when you are parked in the
parking lot traffic jam, but remaining calm and patient one will see the flow of traffic does
happen and most are on their way before 3:10.
8. Please be calm and kind to one another. Let's all be positive role models for our children.
9. Report to the police, and/or the school, people who are violating the safety of others,
blocking the handicap parking, or not stopping for children in crosswalk zones. Please write
down the license plate number of the vehicle. However, please do not confront anyone.

Letter from PTO
Welcome back to school! We hope the first few weeks of the
school year went well for everyone.
The Century Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) strives to support
the education and social needs of the students, teachers, staff,
and families of Century Elementary. Our goal is to provide
students and their families with activities that create a positive
school community. We are excited to start a new year with many
exciting PTO events, such as our upcoming Family Trivia night.
Century PTO supports our classroom teachers through financial
assistance for classroom supplies and activities by organizing
multiple fundraisers throughout the school year, such as our
upcoming Tidal Wave Auto Spa fundraiser. We also enjoy
celebrating our Century teachers and staff with treats throughout
the year. For example, the upcoming Teacher Conference Meal
which will be provided during their long day of parent-teacher
conferences on October 12. Please see below for more
information and to consider a contribution to the meal!
We invite you to scan the QR code and check out our Century
