Eastern Music Notes

A newsletter for Eastern Band students & parents

March 2021

Welcome!

Welcome, Eastern Band Students & Parents! This newsletter is intended to be released monthly to update you on upcoming events and highlight the good things that are happening in our program.

Join Marching Band in 2021!

It's the time of year where many students choose to become a part of the Comet Command. We have a committed core group of returning students who are working hard to see the band succeed, and we're looking to grow both musically and competitively this fall by adding some awesome new members! We want to welcome ALL students in grades 9-12 who would like to be a part of our marching band and color guard, and we will invite incoming 7th and 8th graders who are currently excelling in their band class. Parents can find our most up-to-date summer/fall marching season calendar on our band website.

In late April, we will plan to have a parent meeting to discuss the fall marching season and a potential Disney Trip (Spring Break 2022). If you have questions that you would like to ask before our meeting, please call or email Mr. Matthews at the school.

Marching Band for PE Credit - NEW for 2021: Our high school administration is going to allow incoming Freshmen the opportunity to earn one semester's PE credit through participation in marching band this year. This applies only to the Class of 2025. Students who are working to earn that credit will be in charge of regularly documenting their physical activity as a part of the marching band. We are excited to offer this option for 2021!
