Mission Elementary Weekly News
September 19, 2021
Dear Mission Families,
This month we recognize the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. We also honor and celebrate the heritage of our Hispanic students, families and staff!
Did you know that Hispanic refers to people who speak Spanish and/or descended from Spanish-speaking populations (Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America), while Latino refers to people who are from or descended from people from South America Mexico, Central America and the islands of the Caribbean.
We would love to share our student's' and families' pictures/art showcasing their Hispanic heritage and/or what it means to them to be Hispanic. Please email them to glenda.robinson@oside.us.
Thank you, Glenda Robinson, proud to be Hispanic/Latina

COVID-19 Testing - Flyer
Register for your test and sign up for secure access to your results within 24-48 hours using the link: https://oside.testscheduler.net/register
Testing is voluntary. OUSD provides free COVID-19 testing to students and staff at the following locations, days, and times:
- Oceanside HS & El Camino HS: Mondays & Thursdays, 8:00am-3:00pm
- Libby Elementary & ESS Office (2080 Mission Ave.): Mondays & Thursdays, 9:30am-4:00pm
- ESS Office: Wednesdays 1:00pm - 4:00pm (reserved for staff)
Testing sites must conclude testing by the time listed in order to have specimens reach the lab in San Diego by 6pm that day. This allows for a 24-48 hour turnaround for results. This means that if a site closes at 4pm, all testing must conclude by that time, and appointments beyond 3:50pm or at 4:00pm will not allow the medical assistants to ensure specimens are transported in time. Please arrive before the end of testing time.
