The G-Dub Hub

August/September 2018

From the Principal's Desk

Hello GW Families!

In less than a week our year of learning, thinking, and fun will begin! We are all excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways filled with energy and enthusiasm for learning. I'm looking forward to seeing our returning families and welcoming new families to our school community.

The "The G-Dub Hub" newsletter is sent via email at least once a month and is our main form of communication. It contains important school information and upcoming dates as well as pictures and happenings throughout the school.

The summer is a great time to reflect on previous years and think of new ideas of how to keep our school moving forward and growing! At George Washington, we have great teachers who spend hours planning and creating classroom activities to engage our students in learning. That is evident in our growth we saw last year on our FAST and MAP assessments. As we look to continue that trend this year, I am very proud to share that 100% of our certified staff participated in professional learning this summer. We are excited to implement new research-based math and reading interventions, continue collaborating and growing our Professional Learning Communities (PLC), and supporting our students through our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system.

I am honored to serve as the principal of George Washington Elementary. It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth. I thank you for your support and look forward to meeting you and working with you to make our school a great place to work and learn each day! If you have any questions, feel free to call the school or email me.

With gratitude,

Mrs. Nicole Nemecek
