Contacting J/J During the School Interruption
Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Each week our remote learning experience for students continues to evolve. Required work is prioritized in each grade level remote learning plan. This ensures students are aware of what is most important to complete for the week. This work is relative to the prerequisite grade-level standards. This will be a combination of new material and strengthening previously learned skills.
In addition, there will be an increase in project-based learning opportunities, as a multifaceted tool to engage learners in enriching work, at various levels, while integrating multiple content areas. This will also aid in the reduction of printing materials for families.
Our overarching goal is to strengthen the engagement and learning experience for students. These and future enhancements will target increased levels of student engagement and independence. Teachers will continue to monitor student engagement levels and we will all continue to work with families to support their needs at home. Our staff and students are experiencing an incredible educational transformation together. Thank you all for your efforts at home to support their learning!
Finally, I'd like to thank MESA, our students and all families for taking time to appreciate the staff during Teacher Appreciation Week and School Nurse Appreciation Day. This year, the gestures and kind words are even more meaningful.
Take care and stay healthy.
John Nieratko
A Note from C.H.A.M P.S.
In order to give families time to prepare for childcare for the upcoming school year, we would like to let you know the C.H.A.M.P.S. program for the 2020-2021 school year is full. After registering current families and their siblings, we had limited openings available. We currently have a waiting list; however, with turnovers being very rare, we will not be accepting any more names for our waiting list at this time.
