A Message from Mrs. Lucas
Dear Parents,
We are looking forward to Open House this Thursday, April 7th. Please plan to join us for our PTA General Association Meeting at 5:45 pm at the lunch tables. We will be honoring three recipients with Honorary Service Awards. After that, classrooms will be open from 6:30-7:30 pm for your student to show you many of the wonderful things they have learned this year.
Our Scholastic Book Fair will be open from 6:00-8:00 pm in the MPR. Please drop in to purchase a book and also to see our PTA Reflections Contest entries. We are very proud of our students who participated and won!
If you live in the neighborhood and can walk, I highly encourage you to do so. Please remember not to park in the stalls marked for Staff. We look forward to seeing you Thursday evening!
We have a regular day on Friday and then Spring Break will be next week, April 11th - 15th.
See you Thursday,
Julie

CAASPP (State) Testing Information
Our students in Grades Three through Six will participate in the statewide CAASPP testing in May. Families will be receiving a letter with more information after Spring Break but we wanted to make you aware of the testing dates now.
It is very important that students attend school daily, as long as they're well, to be ready for testing as well as to participate in the scheduled testing times. Those details will be shared in a letter to families after Spring Break.
To learn more about these tests go to the Starting Smarter web page at ca.startingsmarter.org/, or review the Parent Guides to Understanding at cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/ca/parentguidetounderstand.asp.
Attendance and Health Reminders
- School starts at 7:50 each day and students are expected to be on their assigned playground by 7:45 am. We close the gates promptly at 7:50 am each day. Students arriving after that time will need to go through the office to check in prior to going to their classroom and will be marked tardy. Please plan accordingly each morning to ensure that students arrive on time, no later than 7:45 am, ready to learn. As a reminder, the gates open at 7:35 each morning.
- Students should have all of the materials necessary for each day including homework, lunches, water bottles and, if applicable, their musical instrument. Students are learning about responsibility and accountability when it comes to these items, so we encourage parents to NOT drop off forgotten items. All students are able to receive a school lunch for free; they just need to order one with the daily lunch count. If homework or instruments are forgotten, it is a valuable lesson learned for students that, typically, doesn't happen again.
- If your child is sick or has symptoms of Covid, they should not attend school
- You must call the school attendance line to report all absences
- Please leave specific details of your child's symptoms and we'll notify you of their return date
- Please review the Student Symptom Tree to help guide you with questions regarding Covid symptoms and next steps
We appreciate everyone's diligence in completing the daily "Shared Responsibility" in checking for symptoms and keeping students home when they are ill. Together we'll make it through the year in keeping everyone healthy and well.
Daily Protocols
On-Going Mitigating Measures
- Shared Responsibility Symptom Screening should be done daily prior to the arrival of school. If your child has COVID symptoms, they must stay home.
- Handwashing stations are located around campus and hand sanitizer is located at the entrance of every classroom.
- Good hygiene habits will be taught and encouraged.
