A Cappella Fest 2015

Select chorus groups from all five Central Bucks middle schools gathered at Tamanend Middle School to work together with professional a cappella artists, The House Jacks. After performing for each other and hearing feedback from The House Jacks, they all joined together to put on a concert. Tamanend's Chieftains and Gold'n Blues wowed the standing-room-only audience! After intermission, The House Jacks performed cover songs, original songs, and then they sang to crowd requests highlighting their skill at improvisational singing... incredible!

We recognize and appreciate Mr. Sanchez for coordinating A Cappella Fest for all of us in Central Bucks School District.

Reading Olympics

On Wednesday, April 8th, 32 students represented Tamanend Middle School in the Bucks County Reading Olympic Competition at Strayer Middle School in Quakertown. Three teams competed in the competition, and they were responsible to read each of the 45 books on this year’s list. We are so very proud of our Reading Olympic students! All teams received a ribbon and represented Tamanend well with their enthusiasm and respect for the other teams. Congratulations Reading Olympics!

We would like to thank the teachers who assisted the teams as chaperones, scorekeepers and moderators. Special thanks to Ms. Douglas, Mrs. Holloway, Ms. Littley, Mrs. McDonald, Ms. Roth, and Ms. Vitacco.

Hour of Code

Science classrooms used laptops to complete the "Hour of Code" challenge last week. Students used programming language to learn how to manipulate graphics on their computers. Some of the things we heard students say during the challenge started with "what would happen if...?" and "how can we make it [do something different]? We saw and heard collaborative problem-solving, risk-taking, and innovation... IF-YET-TRUST in action... Priceless!

Tamanend Art Show

The Tamanend Art Show will coordinate with our Spring Concert Nights on April 29, May 5, and May 11. Soon our students' art work will be displayed in the Art and Music Hallways and around the Auditorium. Plan to come early so you can see and hear the talents of our Tamanend students.

Tamanend Middle School PSSA & Keystone Testing Dates

  • Math: April 21-23

8th Grade:

  • Math: April 21-23
  • Science Tests - April 28-29

Keystone in Algebra:

  • May 13-14

The best way to prepare for test days (and all school days) is for students to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and bring a bottle of water and a snack to school. Students should bring two #2 pencils for all testing days. Students should bring a calculator for the math tests. Students should NOT bring their phone or any other personal electronic devices to school on testing days.
