MHS Updates
FINALS WILL BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT!
Check in with your child to see what their grades are and discuss any missing assignments. In the next week or so, teachers will begin reviewing for mid-term exams. Is your child taking the steps to be prepared for their exam? It is necessary for students to spend time out of school preparing for their exams. Many teachers will be providing students with study guides that will prove to be beneficial if completed and used to study and learn the material.
As a reminder, mid-terms/finals cannot be taken early. If your child will not be present for testing, he/she must make arrangements in the administrative office.

Problem Solving While at School - A Love and Logic Approach
One of our challenges is for students to problem solve, they just want the answer now or someone to take care of the problem. Time and time again, supervisors and managers tell educators, "We can teach them the job, but we need them to have problem solving skills and find solutions when hit with adversity."
We understand that things will be forgotten from time to time. However, the next time your child asks you to bring something ask yourself, "Is this really necessary? If I bring it to him/her today, will they learn not to forget?"
The Love and Logic Method would say use compassion while teaching the skill, "That's a bummer you forgot your homework. Maybe you can talk to the teacher and come up with a plan."
Note: We will not disrupt instruction time to have students pick-up items.
