2). HRA (Health Risk Assessment) Event @ the Lake House Dec. 5th-6th
To stay current this quarter (Q4 2017), schedule your HRA and get it done! If you missed the November dates, not to worry, the make up dates are Dec. 5th and 6th at the Lake House.
- Go to CareHere.com, link below
- Click "Appointments"
- Go to the calendar and choose either Dec. 5th or 6th
- Select your time for the blood draw and click "Make appointment"
- Be sure to fast 12 hours prior to your screening (water only- black coffee acceptable)
A biometric screening is a short health examination that can help determine the risk level for certain diseases and/or medical conditions. Knowing your numbers, such as levels of glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol, etc., will help to establish a health baseline.
When you put all of these measurements together, you can assess your risk for heart disease, stroke and diabetes. These illnesses and health conditions can be prevented with early detection, which is why knowing your numbers is so important!
In addition, we are not going to leave you hanging after your assessment. We have a plethora of onsite offerings and health services to assist on your well-being journey.

7). Yes to Yoga! | Why Associates are Saying Yes to Yoga @ Work
"I said yes to yoga at work because I have learned that there are so many mental and physical benefits that this practice provides me. I am trying to become more connected with my body, and yoga provides the perfect platform for mind-body connection. I am starting to become more familiar with my body and when things are out of whack, I can participate in the restorative yoga class, and this seems to help me get back on track. Having the opportunity to take the yoga class with a great instructor, I learn more about what my body can do to repair itself and it is the perfect way to break up my work day."
~Joi Aikens (LT-ATL)
"I say yes to yoga at work because it helps take your mind away from a stressful day and you can go back to work feeling more relaxed."
~Della Stuart (PA-ATL)
"I say yes to yoga at work because anything after the class is a breeeeze. One can never have a bad day after yoga. It does a body good."
~Lynn Cromer (JH-ATL)
"Essud is the best! I absolutely love the yoga classes here as I instantly feel better afterward mentally and physically. Now if I can just make more time to come! Fourth quarter budget… "
~Kaite McCuen (LT-ATL)
"I have said yes to yoga at work because it is the perfect exercise to release the tensions and aches sitting at a desk causes, but also pushes you to break the sweat you want in a work out."
~Katie Rogers (JH-ATL)
"I started Tai Chi and Yoga at work because it helps relieve stress especially in the middle of the work day! It really has enhanced my emotional and physical well-being. #EssudRocks"
~Samantha Popham (LT-ATL)

8). Associate Highlight | Is Your Desk Zen Like Faye's?
Can atmosphere impact your mood? We caught up with Faye Coley (VMS-ATL) to ask her about her desk area and how she "Zenned it out".
"As Virtual Medical Staff started to grow at an alarming rate in 2016, I found myself becoming overly stressed. I was working excessive hours and working out very little. This increased stress started to cause increased weight gain and I had even started breaking out in hives. It was then that I decided that I had to do something…anything…to reduce my stress level. At the beginning of 2017, I began to make-over my workspace. The pieces were added one at a time, over a period of time.
- My first addition was the fabric covering on my cube walls. It reminds me of a starry night and how the world is so much bigger than what we experience from day to day.
- I then added the lotus flower fountain to promote a sense of calm from listening to the running water.
- The Himalayan salt lamp is for positive ions because we can all use a little more positivity.
- The essential oil diffuser was a gift and I either use lavender oil for calming or orange and lemongrass oils for energizing (depending on what I need for that day).
- The zen garden allows me to find clarity in chaos, because I can control what happens in my little garden.
- My final piece was a chakra stone tree of life anchored to blue kyanite. The blue kyanite was a gift and I made the tree and anchored it myself. It reminds me to relax and try to find balance in everything while keeping my roots firmly planted."
