Clive Community Services

****STARTING Februray 7th, 2022.....The Free Medical Clinic is open every Monday night (unless a major holiday falls on Monday). Patient registration begins at 5:00 PM and patients can be seen from 5:30 to 7:30. The last patient registration is at 7:00.

The Clinic is intended to serve people who otherwise lack access to affordable medical care. It is not intended to replace regular health care services for patients who have access to care.

Valley Junction Free Medical Clinic

The Valley Junction Free Medical Clinic is open on Tuesday evenings from 7 pm to 9 pm (must check in by 7:30 pm).

This clinic provides basic medical care and management of chronic medical conditions to uninsured or under-insured individuals; all on-site services are provided free of charge. There is no income verification or requirements to utilize the clinic. The clinic is located at 139 6th Street in the West Des Moines Human Services building. Please note, the clinic is closed on all holidays.

The clinic is a member of Free Clinics of Iowa, the largest network of free medical clinics in the State of Iowa and a donor-supported, not-for-profit organization. Free Clinics of Iowa member clinics provide basic healthcare services through volunteer physicians and nurses. Please call 515-222-3660 for more information.

Iowa Primary Health

The Primary Health Care West Side Walk-in Clinic provides general medical & preventative care including check-ups, physicals, immunizations, vaccinations, and chronic disease management. Patients can call ahead to schedule an appointment or walk-in anytime during business hours. The clinic has integrated behavioral health services, depression and anxiety screening, psychiatric medication management, and other supportive services.

Primary Health Care is a Federally Qualified Health Center and will never turn a patient away because of an inability to pay. A sliding fee scale is available for patients who do not have health insurance.

We will hear a report from Director Shelly Pospeshill and recap upcoming events like playground remodel, fundraising nights, Penny Wars, Spirit Week, Summer Rocks, and more!

Jason's Deli Fundraising Night: Wednesday, February 9 from 5PM to 9PM

Dine with us again, this time at Jason's Deli on University Ave in Clive. A portion of all sales (15%!) during this time frame will be given right back to our school! It's a no brainer...really, who doesn't love their free ice cream after your meal?!? Mention CLA or use the QR code on the flyer for online orders to ensure our school gets credit. Dining fundraiser nights are one of the PTO's biggest money-raisers this year as we did not have our annual Fun Run fundraiser.

Friendship Classroom Parties: Friday, February 11th

February is the month to celebrate love, friendship and camaraderie! To do so, classrooms will each have their own friendship party, with craft, game and snack. (Sadly, we still cannot welcome parent volunteers into the building.) Students are invited to bring Valentine cards to school to share with their classmates on the party day. The PTO is collecting Valentine cards for students in need as well as other party supply donations. Playground Committee Update

The CLA playground committee had its first meeting late last month. Phase One of our playground enhancements will take place this summer and will be our blacktop/cement areas. This will be done in conjunction with the building construction addition. (As a reminder, our main playground remodel will be in summer of 2024.) This committee will meet again on February 17. If you have any ideas/suggestions/grant leads/etc to share, please email cliveplayground@gmail.com. We'd love to hear from you!
