Greetings Clinton Valley Families!
Greetings Clinton Valley Families!
May has been an extremely busy month, but a lot of fun for Clinton Valley students! We had some wonderful events! Our Fine Arts Night was a hit, 5th graders had their orientation and field trip, our Cardinal Crawl limo ride, Science Olympiad County Competition, Teacher Appreciation Week, Leadership Bounce House fun, Science Assembly, Kindergarten Kickoff and much more! The even better news is that we completed a lot of our end of the year screeners and our kids really GREW! I am so proud of our students and teachers, and it was wonderful to see so many students work so hard. THANK you to the PTO, and ALL of those who volunteered and participated in the joy with us!
It is hard to believe that the end of the year is here! It has been a wonderful year. There were definitely ups and downs and mistakes were made, however, at the end of the day, I am very proud of our accomplishments as a school. It was so nice to get to know the kids and the families, and work to form a partnership.
In just a few days, your children will be one year further in their educational journey. They have worked so hard to develop their skills and in order to keep the ball rolling, we ask that you continue to read with them each night and have them practice. Even though summer is a time for a break, reading and spending time on math facts will help your student retain what they have learned this year. Report cards with additional end of year testing documents will go home with your child on the last half day, June 14th.
To round out the school year, we have a few more events coming up! Tomorrow is field day. We have a lot of volunteers and are excited to have some fun. We also have an Ice Cream Social on June 6th on the playground, sponsored by the PTO. A few grade levels are taking field trips, and we have our kindergarten and fifth grade promotion ceremonies taking place on the 12th.
To all of our 5th grade families...thank you for a wonderful year! We will miss you and welcome you back to visit any time! We look forward to the ceremony and are so proud of you!
Thank you and have a wonderful summer!

Lunch Procedures
We do have specific procedures that we are still working on implementing. Students must stay in their seats at all times and be at a voice level 2 or lower. This means that any form of yelling or screaming is not permitted. It can get very loud in the cafeteria, so we will continue to remind them to keep the noise levels down. There have been instances where we had to implement a level 0 (no talking) and a level 1(whispering) so that they understand the difference.
Additionally, we are working on making sure that those who go through the lunch line, get everything that they need in order to avoid going back. For safety purposes, we do not want them traveling back and forth from their seats. Therefore, soon, we will not permit it. Instead, we will have a traveling basket for those who need additional items. We have been working on this for an entire month. We also understand that the littler ones may need more practice with this, but ultimately, we would like everyone to stay seated for the entire 30 minutes.
