Dress up as your favorite story book character on March 5!
March 5 is going to be an amazing day for our school. To kick off our Read Aloud Night, we are asking students to come to school dressed as their favorite book character. Then, in the evening, we will host our annual Read Aloud sessions. We’ll have guest readers who will read to our students. The two read aloud sessions begin at 7:00 and 7:30, respectively. Please fill out the session RSVP form and return it to Cedar Grove by March 2 to ensure that your readers get into the sessions of their choice! And, as if that’s not showing you enough book love, the book fair will also be holding special hours during Read Aloud Night, from 6 to 8:30 PM. We’re looking forward to a busy and book-filled day!
From Mrs. Hirschhorn, Our Media Specialist
It’s back! During the month of March, we’re once again reading 16 books on the March Book Madness bracket to see which title is the best! We’re starting March 2, and will vote at the end of every week to see which books need to face off for the final two! Students can access the read alouds/stories via Google Classroom and then vote for their favorites. Please have your students log on to their Google Chrome accounts, and access Google Classroom. The code to join the March Book Madness classroom is lyqplgz. As the month progresses, we will narrow down our favorites until we end up with the one winner! This year, we had guest readers – parents and MCPS staff – reading our selections to add to the read aloud experience so we’re very excited and hope your students enjoy it!
