Catch the Wind Weekly Bulletin
Week of 1/18/16 - 1/22/16
A Message from Principal Fraser
Aloha 'Aikahi Ohana,
Over the next year and a half our school will undergo the rigorous Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accreditation process. WASC is a educational governing body that provides oversight and evaluation to thousands of schools and colleges on the West Coast and in the Pacific. Their goal is to determine if a school has clearly articulated goals and objectives that assure effectiveness for teaching and learning.
A team of WASC evaluators will meet with parents, teachers, students and community members in addition to a comprehensive review of school systems and documentation throughout the accreditation process. The final report will determine whether or not we meet the criteria to be officially accredited. While the process is quite extensive, its something we will look forward to because it will afford us the opportunity to review everything about our school. It will provide us with insight from an objective third party on how we are doing and provide suggestions for improvement. We very much look forward to this process and will keep you informed along the way. You can find more information about WASC on their website http://www.acswasc.org/.
