Subject Updates

We have been reading a number of stories concerning civil rights this month. During the month of February, we will be reading stories about famous African Americans and the fight for equality. As always, it is important that students practice writing complete sentences that begin with a capital letter and end with a punctuation marks. We will be looking for 4th grade quality work which means it needs to be neat and contain supporting details when needed. Students should look back in the story to find the answers to vocabulary and comprehension questions!

Social Studies

We are finishing up interpreting timelines and graphs. Our next topic is history beginning with Ohio Native Americans! Please read the flyer about our February Sauder Village presentation.

We will be finishing up Chapter 8 Lesson 4 this week and will review and test on Chapter 8 sometime next week. I will let you know the exact date for the test as I see how we progress this week.

We are completing our unit on division this week. The students have done a great job solving long division problems. Please continue to work on basic multiplication facts with your child if he/she is having difficulty with this task. Next we will be studying geometry.
