Principal's Message
Dear Madison Parents & Guardians,
November is the month to remind us to be thankful for the many positive things happening in our life. For me, I am thankful for staff and students being in-person this school year. Hearing laughter and seeing smiles in the hallway warms my heart. We have completed our first two months of school together and I am amazed at all the hard work and learning that we have accomplished together. I truly appreciate our Husky family partnerships in our students’ success and education.
As a reminder, please continue to support your child(ren) in building good habits of attending school daily and on time. Attendance matters here at Madison. Each day, we work hard to ensure we have contact with each child, to support and motivate them with learning. Thank you for all you are doing to ensure that your child engages as much as possible each day!
This month Madison is very fortunate to receive some amazing technology to enhance our learning in the classroom. One of the final large projects from the 2016 Capital Levy and Bond for technology is upgrading elementary classroom projection. This past summer an engineering firm assessed the elementary buildings and classrooms to make recommendations for options to update classroom projection in our district. The results of this assessment led us to the decision to add an interactive flat panel to every classroom here at Madison. These panels will allow staff to project their computer for their class to see and interact with, as well as offer additional new ways to deliver content. A vital component of this project will be the professional development for staff for both initial training on functionality, and ongoing PD for how to integrate it into classroom instruction and engage students throughout the year. Click on the link below for a preview of what your students will have access to in their classrooms. Link- https://youtu.be/plb1vPbjt4U
Last month students in grades 3rd-5th took a panorama survey that covered topics on emotion regulation, growth mindset, and teacher-student relationships to name a few. We are very pleased to see each category has gone up by 8 or more percentage points and we have outscored the district in each category. We contribute our results to putting systems in place and taking the first 5 days of school to focus on community building and relationship building.
As always, we wish to express our sincere gratitude toward our entire school community. We would not be the amazing school that we are without the help and support of all of you. Thank you and may you have a safe, healthy, and happy fall season! Please don’t hesitate to contact the office if you have any questions or concerns.
In Partnership,
Principal Corneille

The live event will take place on Thursday, November 4th from 6 – 10 p.m. The link to the virtual event site will be available soon, but in the meantime, mark your calendars for this upcoming opportunity to visit, ask questions, and explore several post-high school options!

Receive information the way you prefer
Thank you to all who were able to participate in our September 18 Let’s Connect session. One of the action items that came from the session was to remind parents how to select their preferred method of communication so they will not get the same message in multiple formats unless they choose to. Below are some steps you can take:
- Download the district’s mobile app. One of the many features is to select your delivery preferences. Once you have signed into your account, click on your profile tile and then “Edit Delivery Preferences” at the top.
- Click on the icon for app, text, phone or email to turn off that mode. Green indicates the mode is turned on. Some modes are locked, as indicated with the lock in the upper corner of the icon.
- Keep your contact information current by updating the “Annual Student Update Form 2021-2022” in Home Access Center or by letting your school office know anytime there is a change.
- Please visit the communications department webpage for a list of timely and relevant information to strengthen connections among families, staff and community.

· Set up email and social media accounts with your children. Know their screen names and passwords and explain the reasons for not including any personal information in profiles.
Know who is in the “buddy lists.” Get to know the cyberfriends as well as you do those who visit your home. Parents and guardians may find the following resources helpful to begin a conversation about the dangers of engaging in cyberbullying and how to stay safe online:
